    Garage construction costs

Man, I wish I could get a garage built down here for that price. I'm at ~$45 / ft but that's block construction garage fully insulated, plumbed, finished walls and ceiling, 150 AMP electrical, 18x8 Insulated 140 MPH impact rated door w/ jackshaft opener, tongue and groove attic flooring and...

Cooling for garage workshop in AZ

Look for a portable A/C with an external exhaust vent. Run the exhaust vent through the bottom vent. It will run you about $400 for a decent one and if that garage isn't insulated you're just throwing money away.

Benefits/Drawbacks of VCT, Epoxy, Tile, and Stain

In the same vein as stain how about using H&C® Silicone Acrylic Concrete Sealer http://www.hc-concrete.com/product/3011.asp I'm having a new house with 2 garages built as we speak and I think this is what my builder uses in all his garages. I've seen the finished product and it looks great and...

    MA Garage Cost Calc?

You guys are killing me. I'm building a new home with an attached 2 car and a detached 2+ car "shop". The 22 x 28 (616 sq ft) x 12' ceiling shop will end up costing about $46,000 ($75 / sq ft). Bear in mind this is complete block construction capable of withstanding 140 mph sustained winds...

    Detached Garage Resale Value

I'd just love to know where you can get a 20 x 20 built for $10K.... My 22 x 28 detached is costing around $40K and that's bundled into the price of the house with the attached 2 car that's being built along side. Of course it's block construction built to Florida wind and water codes with a...

    ZAP Garage Door Openers

In reviewing the ZAP site it looks like the remote control is 433 mhz. Do they have an option that works in the 315 mhz range and is homelink compatible?

    Who designed/drew your garage?

I had it drawn as part of the entire new home project I'm doing. The engineering stamps and truss engineering are being combined with the overall project.

    New garage design

I'm still on the fence but it's looking more and more like I'll be sticking with the 10'. Considering that the only thing that would go on the lift will be a race car or a Cobra kit (both quite low and both in the future) AND that I don't even have a lift yet I'm having a hard time spending the...

    New garage design

Let's see, extra height $$$$$ Scissor trusses $$$$$ By the time I get done I won't have enough money to put anything in the garage :headscrat Seriously, I appreciate the replies. I'm not going to go with the scissor trusses and vaulted ceilings because the location of the lift (eventually)...

So you did 2 extra courses of block over 10'. That's what I'm considering but it's about $850 / course after 10' so I have to weigh all my options.

    Garage Door Opener Range

About 2 years ago everyone moved to the new 315 mhz frequency and away from the 390 mhz. Also, these units have about 1/10th the range of the older systems. Most of this is due to the defense department's use of the 390 mhz frequency I lost about 100 ft of range with the new opener and...

    Car STacker

Measure the height of the cars in question (to the highest point on the car). Most sports cars are in the 45" - 55" range. The popular stacker lifts have a top lock deck height of 72". Add the 2 up and you get your number. Also remember that you usually go slightly above the locking point...
