Above 1200 Sq/FT Finally build my, long needed, shop

That looks a whole lot nicer than it did before you started!

    Tecumseh Snow blower starter motor

I have glued magnets back into motors using JB Weld epoxy. You just have to scrape the JB Weld off the sides of the magnets as it crawls up the magnet before it sets up.

    Another drill press?!

For what it's worth, those bearings on the slide assembly are installed on shafts with an eccentric end. Loosen the set screw on the side of the shaft, then rotate the shaft to bring the bearing closer to or farther away from the slide that they ride against.

    Another drill press?!

I replaced those two gears in nearly the same radial drill press. Mine were broken the same way. I was able to find gears of the same size, & machined the bores to match the existing. My best guess is the originals were made from Zamak. Here is a link to the thread I started. I need to get...

    Walker jack find and rebuild

I always thought it was neat that Walker puts the lift range on their data tags. That one looks to have a lift range of 3 3/4 inches to 20 inches. I picked up a (third) long frame Walker jack in 2020 for a rebuild project when there was talk of sending people home, but our work was deemed...

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT A new lease on life: 30x40 schoolhouse conversion

I will agree with you about acquiring tools like that, but it is a nice way to keep the memories alive. Some of the tools in my shop will forever be Uncle Bob's lathe, Uncle Marvin's level, Dad's ladder, etc.

Removing couple day old latex from flake floor?

Alcohol will soften latex paint. If it's only a couple days old it will probably remove it.

lifting cart with winch on it? What is this thing?

I have one similar to that. It has a tag that says 2000 Lb capacity. Very handy to have around. Mine is frequently used as an adjustable height portable work table.

    Walker Turner Radial Drill

I spent a bunch of time trying to figure out a way to fix the broken gear teeth. Everything I considered seemed like a lot of time, and still some money to end up with a half assed fix. I finally gave up on that, and figured out that these were Module (Modulus?) 2.5 bevel gears. With that...

got a killer Walker Roll-A-Car (#884) Art deco 4 ton Jack

Pretty cool that it still has the nose piece. I have three of those jacks, but I've never seen an original nose piece in person.

    Walker Turner Radial Drill

I took the column lift mechanism apart, and found several teeth broken off one of the bevel gears. That gear has a threaded bushing pressed into it that is held in place with two set screws. The bushing had pulled out of the gear. Probably from someone cranking the lift handle while the...

    Walker Turner Radial Drill

I recently found this Walker Turner Radial Drill press on marketplace, and had to bring it home. I have never seen one quite like this in person. It is pretty ugly, and it is missing the motor (and the step pulley that goes on the motor). The spindle bearings are a little noisy. The lift...

    Left with a full garage

The Snap On clocks and collectibles need to go on an internet auction somewhere. I was watching a friend's estate sell a few years ago, and the Snap On clocks all started bidding wars, and brought stupid money.

    Above 1200 Sq/FT Garage Refurb®

If I were adding permanent blocks, I think I would install them between the caster & toolbox with longer bolts. That would keep it mobile.

Vintage 70s Sears Floor Jack New in Box

My dad had that same, made in Japan, Sears jack. It was a very nice jack, held up well through a lot of use and abuse.
