Looking to possibly upgrade this push in rubber grommet/shut off valve set up for my portable generator. The tank is plastic with a 9/16" dia hole. There's more room to enlarge the hole if needed. I'm looking for something a bit more substantial that would have an internal tank nut/washer. Thanks.

My go to is naptha. Is basically what paint companies sell as wax and grease remover. It's excellent for removing acrylic based adhesive. I've used it for things like removing tape/residue for vent style visors to removing tar from automotive paint.

If the ceiling of the first floor is insulated, should it have be the type with the paper vapor barrier or not?

I just finished installing the replacement pump. After examining the gasket, I determined that the pump seal was bad from the factory. The new pump doesn't leak at all. Thanks again for all of the replies!
