i like supercombos just fine; most of my SAE set is supercombos that i got on clearance at epstein's, with wright grips filling in the gaps.

the single most useful tool you can get a computer or IT guy is a klein 11-in-1 screwdriver! add in a nice pair of needlenose pliers and a pair of dikes (klein, channellock, ...) and he will be pretty well set to cover pretty much any job in a computer nowadays. he can add more specialized tools...

i've got some jcpenney tools that have made their way to me thru my family... a 3/8" drive metric socket set in a black metal box, and some full-polish metric wrenches. they are nice tools. i'd pick up more if i ever saw them at a yard sale or flea market.

try to find an old set of channellock 907s... they are my favorites. there's also a nice wilde set at epstein's for not too much money.

another vote for the proto classics; they're my go-to screwdrivers except when i'm doing electrical or computer stuff, then the kleins come out. get them while you can!

harry epstein's has the S-K 91844 for around $120; that's what i'm using nowadays; i'm really happy with it.

you can get a klein curve stripper or an ideal stripper both in the higher gauges. i use the 11057s as well and they're great with 24 and 26 gauge wire.
