I just painted this a pillar for my oldsmobile this afternoon, the 2 holes close together are for a tachometer. Wearing gloves, I started by washing the part with dish soap and water, and drying it off with a detailing towel. Once dry, I propped the part with a coat hanger and put it where I...

Just How Useful is a Cordless Ratchet?

On my 2nd week working at the ambulance company I bought the M12 3/8" ratchet. Its become my go-to tool and one of my all time favorite tool purchases along with an airlift vacuum coolant fill tool. For tighter fasteners I'll break them loose with a regular ratchet and follow up with the M12...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Here's my $40 CL find from last week. I put it in place of the Columbian D44 (work issue) that was on my bench @ work. Here's a vise on a nearby CL. Looks pretty neat almost like a wilton, it has "COBRA-4" cast on the sides.

    2014 Garage sale thread!

Saw a "US made vise" on CL yesterday morning for $40, and drove 2 hours to buy it. Stopped on the way back home at an estate sale I had been to a few months ago, and got the misc stuff and the sander for $20. Sander needs the rubber pad replaced, the corners are broken off.
