    New Build 42x35

I thought I would update the thread with the photos of how the shop is ending up. I had some issues with contractors, but it is working out. All I can say for that is make sure you have as much in the agreement as you can even down to lien waiver requirements. I managed to get the 4 post lift...

Best grass killer before laying gravel down?

A sterilant will work, but be careful they can travel. Allow yourself about 18". Monument is another item you can use. If you have a tractor supply you can get glyphosate cheaper than Roundup.

    Mohawk lift installed

Okay, I am jealous. Nice buy on the Mohawk. I ended up with a rotary which is fine. I would have preferred a Mohawk though. Great lifts.

How did you plumb Air around your shop?

This is what I am going to do with a dryer and regulator at the tank.

Moving a 4 post lift? Without caster kit.

Agree. Good idea on the scaffold. I just moved mine from one garage to my house assembled. I used a flatbed tow truck. Worked fine, but make sure you ask as the price can vary.

    New Build 42x35

Thanks for the feedback. The left wall will be 30' of storage shelving. I have a lot of parts to store. I spoke with a friend that has a 4 posts and he said having the lift in a place where you cannot access parts and storage is problematic which is why I moved it over to the right. Btw, the...

    Light Fixture Layout Collections

After looking at all the different layouts I created the below. Would you mind making an recommendations or notes? Each "blue" bar is a set of two 4' t5 lights that will be hung from the purlins. The building is a 35x42 insulated metal building with 10' walls and a 4/12 pitch roof. I was...

    Most useful 1800sf building:. 30 x 60 or 40 x 45?

I went through the same thoughts when deciding to build. I went with a 35x42 with two 16' doors on the long side. I would be helpful if you gave a little more info on building layout.

Looking for input on my garage

I used adjustable shelving from HD. it holds quite a bit and allows me more floor space. I my space is 22x20 with same height ceiling. I have two cars, three vidmar cabinets, two good sized welders, tanks for the welders, a mid rise lift, a couple of work benches and so on. It is doable, but...

    About to pull the trigger

matt_i, Yes, sorry clear span. Red iron with 8" purlins and I beams. Welded to plates set in the floor. I have seen their work and it looks good and the welds look clean with good penetration. They have a welder that works for them that does good work. They have a good reputation locally and...

I am about to pull the trigger on a long awaited and much needed garage build. The build specs are 42x35 with two 16' doors on the log side and a service door on the end wall. The walls will be 10' with a 4/12 pitch roof to have enough height for a lift. It will be insulated. The slab will be...

    Cost estimates for 25x40 shop

I am in the process right now of planning and getting bids. At this point it is looking like $30-$45/sq foot with 5.5" slab for a 30x50x12 metal building insulted. No electric priced or veneer. Those I will do myself.

    30x50 garage specs and SOW?

Yes. This is a weld up building and doesn't have any specific plans. I was planning on subbing the out to one contractor, but may sub out the concrete to another depending on what the price and availability comes back as. I would like the building up and finished before storms hit late spring...
