    Who makes this impact wrench?

The hexagon on the side is throwing me off. I think I recognize the hexagon from one of the big brands, but I'm  probably thinking of Matco and as far as I know, they weren't making tools in the 50s.

    Who makes this impact wrench?

Hey! Been a while... So, I have an impact wrench that I can't identify. It's a GREAT gun. My grandpa bought it second hand back in the 50's. A mechanic had gotten fired or had quit and was selling off some of his tools. Any clue what it is? Looks like any sort of name plate wouldve been on...

Definition of SnapOn Dual 80 Technology?

Don't look into it too far. Without actually testing each of them or knowing the exact metallurgy, we can't know which one is strongest. One might be forged and the other MIM. Maybe one is a better alloy or has a more optimal heat treat. Edit: I truly appreciate the diligence, though. I do the...

Definition of SnapOn Dual 80 Technology?

Yup. I stop using them when they're really collectable. Oldest ratchet I use is about 50 or 60 years old. Oldest ratchet in the tool box is a 1/2" Craftsman from the '20s.

Definition of SnapOn Dual 80 Technology?

Just means it has a high tooth count (less arc travel between clicks) and a lot of teeth engaging on the ratcheting pawl: That means you can put more torque on it compared to a fine tooth ratchet that only engages a couple of teeth, before you strip the pawl(s) or the ratchet wheel. It isn't...

Cable loppers on thin strand wire

Same. Honestly, in a pinch I've used pruning loppers on copper and aluminum without any trouble. You can also get ratcheting cable cutters that are a lot more compact and can still cut the big stuff. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk

    Check Valve Question

I agree. Again, add a P trap with a drain if you're still concerned. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk

    Check Valve Question

I see what you mean. If you're going to run the second check valve, you can block that unloader port. Air flows IN on the side with the port, OUT on the side with no port. Unless you're running your air compressor in a sauna or a rain forest or something, a P trap between the compressor and the...

    Check Valve Question

OH, Forgot to mention it, in my last post, but you want the unloader port on the compressor side. You want the pressure that is built up in the compressor cylinder to be able to unload without the reciever tank pressure being affected. The unloader is just to vent pressure from the pump so it...

    Check Valve Question

I would put as few components in your system as I could to minimize the chance of leaks. You do not need more than one check valve between your compressor pump and your reciever tank. It's redundant. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk

welding Alu stick on 110 -

welding Alu stick on 110 -

Honestly, any DC stick machine of reasonable quality should do just fine. For a 3/32 Messer MG-400 (only Alu rods I have), they say 50 to 80 Amps on the box. If I were you, I'd try Harbor Freight. Their newer "Titanium" and "Vulcan" welders look like a pretty good deal. Tractor Supply has a 110V...

Refurbishing my Emglo wheel barrow compressor

Bigblockyeti - I bought a wheelbarrow compressor about 5 years ago. I figured I needed a new tank, so I did some research. A company was selling what I think are Makita twin tanks for 120 USD. I ended up not needing it (my tank didn't go boom when i hydro'd it), but it looks like a solid deal...
