    Topcoating an existing epoxy floor.

3 years ago I did a high solids epoxy floor in my newly built shop. I do car fabrication as a hobby in my garage, with lots of aluminum shaping/finishing. The carbon from the aluminum gets into my epoxy floor and is a nightmare to cleanup. I maintain it in all the wrong ways likely (autoscrubber...

    Ballistix Protective Sealer/Coating

I never topcoated my epoxy floors. They are a year old now and still look good, but I wouldn't mind the extra protection, and gloss.... Can I still use a sanding screen to scuff and topcoat with a high solids epoxy in 10 or so years if I use your product? Will my autoscrubber with a brush wash...

    Pinholes in concrete - epoxy

I had similar issues, not that bad. I assume you didn't prime? Its from your concrete breathing when the epoxy was curing. I ended up renting a floor maintainer, deglossing the floor, wiping with denatured alcohol and topcoating. I too was on the fence, but glad I re coated. The first ugly...

Some mistakes were made but its done.

Ended up getting more epoxy... So I deglossed, wiped with denatured alcohol and topcoated. Im happy with the results. Major bubble issues were resolved, albeit I did get some trash in the new coating somehow, but i seem to be the only one who notices. I got all the equipment moved in, and it...

Do I have to grind a brand new floor?

I had the same question until I ground. Brand new floor too, I didn’t want to grind but I’m glad I did. The difference is very clear once you get any water on the floor and see how it’s absorbs vs. unground concrete. I can only imagine it directly relates to how well the epoxy impregnates...

    Hellfire Pics (Updated)

I wonder if its an adverse reaction to the etch?

Some mistakes were made but its done.

Soooo I was able to get my hands on more epoxy. I have some bubbles, more than I’m happy with. I block sanded a small area and it flattened them nice, a few of the bigger ones have a very small hole in the center but most block off flat with no crater Seeing as I’m out of the 24 hour...

thanks! It’s gonna get filled with metalshaping equipment and machine tools. It’ll be the prettiest it’s ever been today. Might do a build thread on it. It’s been a long long frustrating 11 months.

Some mistakes were made but its done.

Thanks to everybody who helped me on here. I coated the floor this weekend. Weather was looking perfect so I went for it. After the 500th sweep and vacuum I got the show on the road. I had bought the material a while ago of a guy I know. He does concours restorations and had done a ton of...

    Fill these cracks before epoxy?

Thank you both. I ended up filling them last night then grinding back to flat.

Diamabrush vs. Grinder... Plus some other epoxy prep questions.

Rent the biggest one you can find! I wish I had a 2 head one when I did this.

Diamabrush vs. Grinder... Plus some other epoxy prep questions.

I was limited by local options. Im sure I should have gone closer to the city and got a dual head... but thats hindsight knowing what I know now. The blisters on the inside of my thumbs have healed and I forgot about the 12 hours I was strapped to it haha.

    Fill these cracks before epoxy?

About to do my floor this weekend i hope. I got the edges ground finally and just got the door in, so now I can atleast regulate humidity (and bugs!) a bit better than before. I have a few hairline cracks. They’re .0625” wide or so. I have a tube of 2 part polyurea elastomeric crack and...

Diamabrush vs. Grinder... Plus some other epoxy prep questions.

Thank you very much! I'll try a few more sweepings. If it comes down to this i'll follow suit! Drying is really tough in this humidity/heat. I also don't have a garage door (backorder). Im having some issues with condensation at the moment due to 100 degree air hitting 65 degree frost walls. I...
