cupped garage floor and door seal

thanks, I will give the exterior seals a try. No-go on lifting the concrete, the edge of the slab is cupped, it's not broken up/cracked/sunken.

cupped garage floor and door seal

Hi all, We had our 2 bay garage poured with a centre drain, and the concrete guys did a very aggressive slope. So much that the floor under the 16' door is about 2" low/cupped in the centre. I'm in Canada and the garage is fully insulated and finished, but I cannot get a good seal at the door...

No love for standard A19 bulbs?

I'm trying to light a 20x24 garage with a 12 foot ceiling on one portion, 16 on the other. I have read the stickied lighting thread, but being in Canada we don't have options for affordable tube fixtures or tubes. Curious if anyone is just using cheap keyless lamp sockets and A19 bulbs. The...

pardon my ignorance but could one not just weld it up and pay to have it hydrotested and call it a day?

    rewiring a 110V compressor to 220V

No, measuring with a multimeter shows no voltage between those. However the non contact tester beeps on them both.

    rewiring a 110V compressor to 220V

Hi All, I need some pointers. I had an electrician install a dryer plug on a 30amp circuit into my garage which I believe is the NEMA 14-30P style outlet. Sometime later I purchased a dual voltage compressor which is factory wired for 110V. Now I purchased the 4 prong cable and I'm having...

    Converting racks to wall shelving

thanks but I was planning on hanging the shelving with cables to the wall not the ceiling, my garage wall is framed with 2x6's so I think it should be ok?

    Converting racks to wall shelving

Being kind of cheap and needing wall mounted shelving I had an idea the other day. Here is a pretty standard steel rack style of shelving that gives me 4x 6 foot "shelves" for $200...

Can I mount a window AC into a door?

I mean it's 2020 you'd think someone would have figured out a ductless AC system that does not involve putting a hole in the wall. Very simple solution instead of air cool the heat exchanger could be water cool and I could have AC whereever I want that has a water hookup and a drain. Actually I...

Can I mount a window AC into a door?

I'd find a solid wood or aluminum skinned door and do what you described, basically cut out a doggy door and build a shelf. I'm not so much worried about the door itself rather the door jamb and wall. It doesn't seem out of the question since a 35lb unit plus a 30lb door would be 65lbs. I...

Can I mount a window AC into a door?

yes we do, although I wonder if I did cut a couple of holes in a door with hoses attached...that may be even more of an issue with opening and closing the door and having the whole mess come unattached.

Can I mount a window AC into a door?

the interior is finished/drywalled so removing the window is not possible.

Can I mount a window AC into a door?

I need some help, I'm looking to cool (as in take the edge off, not chill) a 1 stall garage. We are renting this place so I'm only looking for a temporary solution. What are your thoughts on the following? 1. Get a spare door, cut a hole and mount a window AC unit with brackets directly on the...
