Hein Werner 2-ton 93642 rebuild question

I was thinking of doing a similar process. Most of the work I do is with MGs and the biggest thing it lifts is my GMC 2500HD so I'm not overly worried about overloading the frame.

Hein Werner 2-ton 93642 rebuild question

I'm rebuilding my jack and have a question I cannot find an answer to. In the valve with the smallest size ball that's held by a plunger cup (name?), heavy spring, and a screw/plug under the welch plug, how tight, or how far down, should that screw be? I probably should have counted turns when...

    Barrett brake shoe grinder

I was looking for an Ammco since I have an Ammco 4000, just so I could have a matching set. The lathe needs some reconditioning and reassembly though - cuz I need more projects 😄

    Barrett brake shoe grinder

Thanks. This Barrett is extremely intuitive to use, one practice shoe and (without instructions) I got it. What I was hoping for was a manual showing recalibration procedures. I think a good cleaning would do it some good and I don't want things to be off after reassembly. Right now if my...

    Barrett brake shoe grinder

Do it outside, machine has a bag, wear a mask, only grind new non-asbestos shoes

    Barrett brake shoe grinder

What disston said ... and the problem of just a smaller portion of the shoes making contact is worse with some repro shoes, at least with what I work on. And then that can be compounded when the drums are cut a fair amount.

    Barrett brake shoe grinder

Picked up this true-arc grinder a few days ago and was wondering if anyone had, or knows of a source, for a manual? If I break it down at all to clean it up I don't want to lose any calibration. It's a model B-375. Thanks a lot

American Scale Red Star #55 Vise

I'm downsizing a bit and have this vise for sale. In pretty good shape, screw runs in and out with very little slop. 5" jaw width, opens to more than 8", probably 8-1/2" to 9" before its hanging out too far. $200. I'd rather not ship, but if I gotta I will. In case you're not familiar this...

Black & Decker Valve Grinder setup

You're welcome. I'm using something I got from Goodson, can't remember off the top of my head. I use my machine for grinding off pushrod *******, facing stem tips, and facing rocker arms. Goodson has several grinding oils I think, and they made a recommendation that has worked out fine. My...

Black & Decker Valve Grinder setup

Looks like the same machine I have. Sorry, but I don't have any instructions at all. I just use mine to re-face rocker arms and valve stems, anyyhing I farm out.

    Ammco Safe-Arc grinders

Hi everybody, I'm looking into getting a brake shoe grinder and leaning towards an Ammco. Hoping someone can shed some light on the differences between the 2000, 880, 890, and 8000 models. From what I've gathered, the older models use a bunch of different adapters for mounting the shoes so...

Looking for Ammco 2002 Brake Lathe info

Hi everybody, I just picked up an Ammco 2002 brake lathe and I'm looking for a pdf of the operators manual. If anybody has one or has a lead, I'd much appreciate it. The lathe is in need of repair also. The control board seems to be mostly dead; it doesn't light up like it should and the...
