Not really. If you have a 3D printer or a friend or local library with one, they are fast and easy to make. Obviously they don't last as long or have the same capacity as a nice steel set, butyou can knock out a size for thin sheet metal in about an hour with $1 worth of material.

I think there was a thread here about making dimple dies in plastic. Though it was a while ago and it may have actually been Pirate4x4. Either way it is the internet. Good information on clearances and draft angles is out there. I did ABS with 85% infill, 10 solid layers and outer walls and they worked amazing. You can go to 100% infill, but the strength gain is negligable and you can run into issues printing.
If I had to do it again, I would go with an engineering fillament. While it drives the cost up substancially, they would probably last as long as their steel counterparts.

What filament would you suggest to qualify as an "engineering filament"?
I printed with PTEG at 100% but haven't used it yet. I need a hole size of the correct size...

Messed with some more aluminum. The 3in holes SCS did for me as I wasn't sure the plate would fit in my press easily even though I've got the die, but the 1in holes in the 1/8 and 3/16 5052 went pretty smoothly with a Light Racing die. I had to do the female die only trick against the arbor plate to keep it pretty flat on the 3/16, but it went well.
Right now I am using a lot of PEEK and it would be my first choice. Unfortunately it is not easy to print on normal printers. My go to Bambu printer will not print it so have to go with my very custom Ratrig with a high temp hot end and heated chamber. It is also temperamental and expensive at $700 a kilo. The flip side is it makes some amazing parts. Strength to weight is unmatched and it hold up in extreme environments.
For filament I can print on my Bambu I would probably go with PPS-CF or PPA-CF. They are about 10x the price of PLA or ABS and 4x the price of PETG-CF, but the material properties are pretty great. PA6-CF might also be a good choice.
Honestly unless you are going into production or want to do thick material PETG probably makes more sense. It might wear out after a dozen or so holes, but you just print another. You are out a dollar of material an hour of print time.
