    Milwaukee hand tools?

I haven't seen anything on here about these yet....a quick search revealed nothing. I have glanced at them a few times in my local hardware store and they looked nice. Anyone tried them out?

    My new lathe

The serious amount of snow in my yard was a factor, no place to maneuver heavy equipment. Once it was on the skid and bolted down it was way more stable and rolling it off was a piece of cake!

    My new lathe

Got it unloaded, went ok but it was stressfull! These c series are hard to lift so I rolled it off the back on pipe rollers.

    My new lathe

The tooling that came with it was pretty limited. I plan to put a quick change tool post on it. I also need to find a 3 jaw chuck. It has a 4 jaw on it now. It is my only lathe at the moment. If I can get enough work I plan to build a new shop with more space for more tools.

    My new lathe

I love the vfd on my Bridgeport, I think it would be even better on a lathe. It would be super cool to be able to adjust the speed in a facing cut.

    My new lathe

He had never hooked it up, the previous owner hadn't either. I'm not sure where he got that number. I'm sure thAt he had never had the door off the motor cabinet. I emailed monarch and they told me there was little chance of getting a motor of that size in the cabinet and that it had not left...

    My new lathe

Mostly repair work on farm and logging equipment. I don't plan to turn any hypodermic needles on it yet. One interesting note, he was trying to sell it for years. He said it was 30hp and that scared people off, I bought it at about 1/3 the asking price. A quick peek at the motor revealed thAt...

    My new lathe

It's 16.5" swing, 78" center to center and weighs in the neighborhood of 7000 pounds. The folks at monarch are great, very helpful with any questions even regarding there products built 73 years ago.

    Insulating vaulted truss roof

I am planning on finally finishing the insulation in my roof. My trusses are 2x6 vaulted, 16" oc. There is a ridge vent. I had planned on spray foaming, the guys who do this say it's ok, that I don't need any air flow, that doesn't seem right to me. It's also very expensive. Right now I'm...
