My local Home Depot has cameras watching self check out, does yours?

Typical short term thinking. I bet HDs stock went up as soon as the announced such an initiative.

My local Home Depot has cameras watching self check out, does yours?

I personally like the self check out, they eliminate the biggest variable at HD, the costumers. The appropriate metaphor for the AVERAGE HD customer is "dumber than a bag of hammers", this could also describe MOST employees also (except Earl back in electrical, every HD has one guy who has...

    My Worst HF purchase yet!

I agree with the gloves, ****! The thing that i just returned was a wall mounted bin system. I thought these are soooo simple, how could they screw these up...I guess that is the question that is often asked while walking to the register with an item. The bin wouldn't slide onto the wall part...

What's the biggest thing you've ever held in a vise?

Machining flat mounting pads and drilling mounting holes. And it wasn't all held in the vices, a lot of hold downs were involved also.

Is a drywall screw gun similar to a sheet metal screw gun?

I have a Senco Duraspin, it shoots screws as fast as you can push them. Collated screws I think 50 per strip. I have the corded version and have shot dozens of BUCKETS of screws through it. Also used it for decking, and stair treads. This is the cordless version...

? for the Wood Workers. 2x4 or 2x6 for Bench Project?

I thought that I would include some pics of my bench mounted vice (for wood) and vice in a vice (steel). Also a detail that I like is hardwood on the edge of the bench, when you radius the edge it takes a beating. 23/32 is what we have been calling 3/4, your right it's dumb. 92 5/8 is a...

? for the Wood Workers. 2x4 or 2x6 for Bench Project?

I used 2 X 4 supporting double layer plywood with ledger board attached to the wall (10 ft long) and 3 4 X 4 posts (corners and center) with ladder construction, just like your drawing. Construction adhesive and screwed together. Super strong! I can dance a jig on top (250 plus tools)...

    soundproofing ideas

The best bang for your buck is fiberglass insulation with a vibrational break from ceiling joist. This can be done with preformed steel Z shaped steel or furring strips perpendicular and attached to the joists and another course of furring strips perpendicular to those (parallel to the joist...

    Florescent lighting and WI-FI question

Thanks for the posts, I upgraded my wireless router, with slightly better results, then I installed an 8' long (double 4') T8 commercial fixture. I separated it from the other 9 lights on the circuit (all incandescents) by a switch. I have a wi-fi app on my Droid I was able to test the effect...

    does size matter?

I have a full size truck and just built a 24 X 36, I park the 24 direction. I wish that I had built 26 but couldn't because of lot restrictions, as it was I had to get a variance in 2 directions. I agree with Alan deeper.
