For the most part, by the time you are doing the guide coat deal, you are mostly looking for small scratches or pin holes that are very hard to see without the contrasting color. Most of the leveling should already be done. Defects at this stage should be able to be corrected by more sanding...

    small, "ding" repair help

Pictures might help, but if you are just looking to fill a small sent, a good quality body filler would be your best bet. A small dent on a flat surface should be a quick fix.

    it's 6ft long, 500lbs, and i can't erect it.

I would throw a 2 x 6 or 2 x 8 over several rafters and use a come a long or even a pulley to raise it up, then lower it onto the feet.

nice job there. I have been on the lookout for a lathe and or mill for my shop. I have not used any machine equipment for 25 years (in shop class LOL). I've had a few near misses on good deals, it's only a matter of time.

How much weight will it hold?

I was worried about mine pulling out of the studs, so I ran legs to the floor. It's most likely overkill, but I like it that way. I still need to install loops and chain to make sure nothing falls on my melon.

Anybody build their own dining table?

Building a table can be easy or hard-depends on the plans you choose. I build my DR table from rough cut 1/4 sawn white oak. The tools used were table saw, router, planer, jointer, miter saw, band saw (could use jig saw), mortise machine, and clamps. The chairs are much tougher to build...

    Cutting/welding chrome bumper

Here's a couple. I'm not a fan of the "roll pan" on this body, but I also hated how far the bumpers stuck out. I guess I ended up in the middle. I also filed the bolt holes and lost the license plate in the tailgate....just to be different. Most folks don't even notice either change.
