lets see your garage radio or stereo

My cheezy old 1977 vintage Panasonic that used to live up in the house and now does duty in the garage. Even has a REAL wood case. Won't find that today. The speakers sit up in the floor joist spaces. The 47 Chrysler tailights didn't come with it. Just thought they made a nice conversation piece.

    E-tek Restorations: PROJECT THREAD

Re: E-tek Resto's 56 Chevy Truck Etek- Been watchin this one all along and I'm really impressed with the work. Two points stood out in these recent posts though. Number one, don't they have "child labor" laws up there? And number two.....I really like the "custom seat covers". I...

    "re-purposed First Aid cabinets

I found a vendor on ePay that had them pretty reasonable (Oldgaspump.com). There's a whole aftermarket out there for people restoring old pop vending machines and gas pumps. They're about as crazy as us car guys! You name the machine...and somebody makes decals, labels, manuals, and some parts...

My soon to be under house 2 car garage

Good luck on your project. I have a very simular setup. (garage under house) I used some former "cubicle" cabinets to get storage on the walls, but up high. My ceiling is lower that yours and on one side I had a HVAC duct to contend with. My concrete only goes half way up though, so I had 2x8...

    Official Fridge Transformation Thread

Nice! I have a 1947 Philco that runs like a champ and I wouldn't trade it for a new stainless one. I hear that stuff all the time too.

Well if I hadn't already had a VERY rusty Jacobs 26 machine, I would have never thought of it either. I would have done it up as a Vintage gas pump clone. The shape of it would have lended itself real well to that too. Thanx!

(from a few posts back) I also got my fake coke machine the "Cokeclone" done and in use. here's a couple of pix of that too. It's just got shelves inside. Doesn't vend and lever doesn't move. It just sits there and looks sort of like an old vintage Coke machine, without the skyhigh cost. I...

Re-purposed cabinets ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thanx, I had been walking past those things forever and one day got the idea that I could gut one and make a small cabinet or clock out of it. That was my original intent, but I have too many clocks now. That glass front is...

    "re-purposed First Aid cabinets

Thought I'd post a couple more pix. Got the last of my old cabinets done. Probably should get some of my cars and trucks done now. These were a couple I've wanted to do something with for a long time. The small one is an old Foxboro recorder chart cabinet. It's cast aluminum. Demo'd out years...

Scott- welcome aboard. Lots of great ideas here. You'll like Bloomington/Normal to. My bro in law lives there and we visit frequently. Nice town. The place appears "recession proof". Get a pizza at Lucca's. Enjoy sights and suds at Elroys. Later, Phil

    Starting Metal Working Table

I used 1" also, and bolted it to the wall and floor. Weighs right at 600 lbs. Drilled and tapped it for the vice and have since made some other tapped holes for different clamps, etc.

Not that "custom", but it looks a lot better after a nice paint job. BEFORE: AFTER:

    Automotive Scan Tool

:bowdown:Boy that's great advice to heed. It really helps to have a service manual (OEM or good aftermarket), so you can actually test the suspect component before replacing it needlessly.

Thanx, my sticker must have been lost long ago. Here's a few more pix that were in the camera. I'll take some more after I make some progress. Cabinet painted- Jacobs vend door painted-The bottom of this piece was completely rusted out and the whole bottom half of the cap catcher was gone...

    "re-purposed First Aid cabinets

Ya know, I think it did. The latch didn't work so I took it off. There wasn't a logo on it anywhere. It must have had a sticker on it originally. When I got it, I wondered who made them. There used to be a couple of metal cabinet manufacturers here in Indiana. I just figured it was from one of...

=================================================== Thanx!! I just now saw your reponse. I've been off a few days. A friend gave me that cabinet when she moved to a smaller house upon retirement. I know that cabinet is pretty old, but I don't know the vintage or the brand. Her folks...
