    Who makes good garden sheers?

What he said. I have been in the landscape and nursery (plants not babies) business for 20 some years, and Felco pruners are pretty much the industry standard. Expensive to start, around $30, but they will last you forever, and the blades are replaceable for a reasonable price.

Are all Porter Cable cordless junk or just mine?

If you bought used tools, there is a chance that the batteries are reaching they end of their lifespan. They only last so long. For this reason, cordless power tools are one thing that I wont buy used. It costs almost as much to replace the batteries in some cases as to buy a new tool.

    Things I wish I knew 20 years ago . . .

My dad used to say something similar, but he definitely meant: When buying something that you will be using on a regular basis, don't skimp on quality. In the end it wastes your time when it doesn't work as well or breaks, and more money when you need to buy a replacement.

Give me made up parts/phrases...left handed screwdrivers etc.

I seem to be the IT department for many of my friends and co-workers when they have computer issues. More often than not the problem ends up being a PEBKAC error: P - Problem E - Exists B - Between K- Keyboard A - And C - Chair

    Show your new tool arrivals

Got a coupon in the mail yesterday for $10 off any one item at NAPA, so stopped in this morning to see what I could find. Not great quality, but for their intended purpose, these should work fine for the $7.00 that I had to pay after the coupon: ATD 9 piece scraper, hook, & pick set.

Grass Protection to get to the Garage

Geogrid is generally the term used for products that reinforce soil behind retaining walls (kind of like remesh in concrete), which is completely different than what the OP is looking for. What you are looking for is going to look something like this: Where as geogrid is more flat like this:

A close-up look at 3-ton Torin Double Locking jack stands -PICS-

Out of curiosity, does anyone here have any personal knowledge of a jack stand failing structurally? I have a set similar to the OPs. Never really thought about the quality of jack stands much, because I have never personally heard of a set failing (other than improper use, where they fall...

    What happened to Thorsen tools?

First tools I ever bought were Thorsen 1/4" ratchet, 3/8" ratchet and a couple of socket sets. Got them when I was still in high school in the mid 80's from the local hardware store. Still have them, and they still work fine.

    Ladder Storage Hooks?

I have looked. There isn't much out there designed to take to ladders. You will probably have to custom fabricate something yourself. What I did is attach two small bolts to the ladder that I hang against the wall 1st. These two bolts stick out just far enough to hang the 2nd ladder on the 1st...

    shovel trouble!!!!!

Agree with the others, shovels are not designed for prying. It's kind of like using your ratchet as a hammer. It might get the job done, but the right tool(s) will usually do the job better and faster. Get yourself a digging bar and a pickaxe.

how to store sawzall and blades

Yep, I have two of these Milwaukee roll up blade wallets. Between the 2, they hold everything I ever need, roll up nice and tight, and fit nicely in the case with the Sawzall, so it's all ready to go whenever I need to grab it. They come in the blade multi packs like this:
