    50's Cornwell box value?

I'm trying to clean up my garage. Three toolboxes is too much for my little 2 car garage. I believe the top box is a 50's Cornwell and the bottom is a Craftsman. The cornwell has a sticker from New Jersey 1963. I was thinking $80 for the pair on my local (DFW) CL. Can I get some opinions?

    Chaser Kits?/Chasers VS Taps

I'm about to build a small block chevy. I really want to chase the threads before I assemble the motor. I really feel like I get a far more accurate tourqe reading with clean threads. I have a brand new Snap-On tap & Die set, but I fear the taps, being so new they may cut some threads. I've...

    Rivet help. No clue

I'm slowly working on this snap on top box. The hinges are hammered. The metal could use some work. I'd like to clean them up, and straighten them up. Problem is, I've only been around rivets one time so I basically know nothing. Would it be possible to remove these, and reinstall with some...

    Damaged KR 58B- restoration advice.

Well, I bought this top and mid box off ebay. I mainly wanted the middle box seeing as how they're incredbily hard to find. Well, I won the auction for both for less then what I've seen some two drawer middles go for. I was beyond excited to have a matching set completed, that is, until I...

Vintage took box find x4. Help ID

Vintage tool box find x4. Help ID Went to a swap meet in DFW with my eyes peeled for some old boxes. Guy said "The one on the left is $40, one on the right is $60 because it has some tools". I contained my excitement, and started looking. Made an offer of $80 for both, and he jumped on it. I...

    Who does paint work?

I have a super oxidized hood for a '79 malibu. I thought I could just wet sand a little and it would smooth out. After doing a small section, and realizing how much is going to need to be removed to make it smooth, I figure I might as well buy a sander. What type of sander for this job? I...

    seeking vintage Snap-On advice/knowledge

I just picked up this KRA352. I thought it would make a cool (and matching) box for my recently refurbed top box. When I finally got the two together this weekend, I came to the realization my plan isnt quite going to work out. I did plan on searching for a center/riser box to make it a tad...

    ancient jack ID?

This was my dad's dads. My dad who is 58 said he used to jack up my grandfathers house with it. Only markings are the 2x8, which I figure is two inch shaft, 8" rise. Any idea on a make or year?

Snap On Resto 60's Bottom Box KRA352

Looks like I lucked out on dallas craigslist. I just finished up a small top box (KRA 52 {thread here}) and I've sort of been looking for a deal on CL or ebay. Saw this for $160 (seller told me it was sold, and I nearly cried), then again for $95 (due to flaky buyer) and snagged it up. I will...

    Snap on torque wrench calibration.

I've been in the market for a snap on torque wrench.. I like the ones with the adjustment on the side. If I buy a used one, I would like to get it calibrated. Is this a service Snap On offers? I once heard a dealer could do it, but I could also see him shying away from doing free work for...

    Difference in these SO boxes?

Why are these selling for so much, and this last one didnt? I mean hell, they sold for about 5 times the price, and are very similar IMO. I'm somewhat new to these vintage boxes, am I missing something obvious...

    Tweeking this tiny box's lid

I have this TINY little SO box. I have a little 1/4 drive Snap On socket set in one of the newer plastic cases, and would love to ditch that, for this older box. I thought the lid would be easy to get back in place but I was wrong. I put a socket under the low side, and applied light pressure...

Lining up drawers on old SO box.

Picked up this KRA-53 this weekend for.... $20. I believe that's a decent deal. Its got a '63 date stamp on the back. There is so many posts on here and the HAMB about restorations, its got me very excited, and I've been majorly jonesing for an older Snap On box to work one. I dont know why...
