I want to build a 36" x ~8' desk. I have seen some really nice ones made from a door slab that got damaged on one side.
I have called around but we don't have many real building centers here in my 15min circle.
Anyone know a good way to get one? Or a good substitute for a real wood large...
I have security grates on the inside of my windows and one single man door. However, I'd like to fashion something to keep anyone from walking into my yard and looking in. The grating has 1"x.5" diamond holes in it.
My one idea was to get one of those retractable janitor/security keyring on...
I did a mix of all-purpose cleaner/ammonia. then TSP and used a pressure washer.
Still have stains. Is this the end result usually at an abused floor? I had removed tons of paint, expoxy, tar, and all sorts of junk.
It's much better than the almost all black it was.
I want to do VCT and...
Still coming along, Ridgid TS3660 in on the south wall waiting to be put together, the paint in the SouthEast corner will go to the attic, and the center table will be replaced. I want to do VCT on the floor.

I have inherited a garage and the previous owner embedded heavy iron diamond grating inside each window. It's great for security and looks decent.
However, the iron is flaking rust pretty bad (if my door slams some will fall on the bench). I tried to wire brush it but it's making a real mess...
All my garage catalogs are full of stencils and decals for Ford, Chevy, etc.
I drive a Nissan 240sx and would like to get some color up on the walls (just redid all my pegboard and painted my cabinets).
Thanks
long story short the person that sent me the saw didn't know what the 'metal thing' they had was and threw it away.
Ryobi is not making this fence anymore and the newer ones supposedly are not compatible. I am using a pair of clamps and some MDF now...but I'd like something more robust.

My workshop needs to be resided soon. Is there alternatives to T1-11 that are low cost? I will be doing this myself so labor intensive costs will be free :)
Its 14x16 if it matters.
Thanks
The T1-11 on my workshop has rotted due to the previous owner burying it instead of clearing the slab. I cleared it out low, but the damage is done.
Some have told me to just replace the bottom parts and seal the seam, it'd be cheaper but I am not happy with how most of it was done and just...
I don't need to have a floor that will last 3 centuries :) I have a ton of other projects I need to apply money too, but if I can get a decent floor for my 14x16' concrete floored workshop it would be great.
I am also considering the armstrong vinyl...but it's more than I'd like to spend right...
I have a small 14x16 shop with T111 on the outside then visible tar paper from the inside. I am going to resheet it soon. Do I have to have tar paper?
I am in south florida.
The inner wall is open studs with some pegboard. I like the open studs as storage using it is excellent. However...
I have one of these new in the box that the previous owner left...I have no idea what it's for or if it's worth selling (I see them going for about $75 shipped).
Anyone know, can anyone use this?

I want to smooth a small slab that the previous owner must have used to hammer stuff on. It's got about 5 -6 pits in it that collect water and always mildews.
I fixed one with the stuff Home Depot gave me but it dries a very dark grey...the mildewed spot actually looked better.
Also if I...
I need to do a door edge and I don't know of a brush is going to work (it's tricoat)...is there an air brush set up I can use that's not terribly expensive and lay down the primer, base, mid and clear coats?
I was looking through my harbor freight catalog and see tools that look like they'd do...
I have my eyes on these (going to use my sears cards with a low interest rate):

I have been looking to get a saw. I was going to go cheap now and later upgrade, but I see that the 22124 goes for close to half it's price at times once you factor in the craftsman club discount and opening a new account. This saw has received a lot of great reviews. I know it's not a 3hp...

Need a saw and really can't afford the one I want right now as I just moved in and have paint, furniture and all the rest of that bought. However, I need to cut 100' of fascia, build a workbench, computer/office desk and...
