Another "What is this tool?" thread

Got this with some old taps and dies today for free.....says Swartchild and Germany on it. From what I can tell, the company made specialty tools for watchmaking/jewelry.

    Are these ratchet straps useless?

See pics. I got them with something I bought years ago and have never been able to use them....no provision for a hook on the end, and nothing to wrap through the center. Is there something wrong here or am I just confused?

Here's the Ebay link. I asked the seller if it was USA or Japan, even though US is listed as country of manufacture. He said he bought it in the early 70s and doesn't know for sure. It's a model 633. Anyone familiar with these...

I'm looking at getting the Proto J5249RK kit for my old Vogel Double Duty ratchet (by Proto) that has teeth missing, so as to covert it into a conventional 3/8" ratchet. Wiring outside receptacle

I've been on the GJ for a while, but never in the electrical forum. As far as home electrical goes, I'm a novice at best. So here's the deal: below are pics of an outside outlet on my property. I don't know if it was connected at one time, or just never finished. The big box on the pole is for...

    Chicago Pneumatic 785 shears help?

I recently got these CP 785 shears used off of Ebay. One of my techs at the shop went to use them today and the they kept getting stuck. The motor seems to be operating properly and does not bog. We took the cutter head apart and found that the two outer blades do not appear to be of the same...

Old Walker jack...would you buy it?

This jack is about an hour and 45 minutes from me. I recently took my Chinese 3.5 ton to work, and that is where it will stay. I drive a Suburban, so fuel the cost will be significant to grab this, but it looks like a relative bargain. And...are the rebuild parts available...

    Pnuematic panel crimpers

I need to buy some air powered sheetmetal crimpers for my shop to replace ones that belong to an employee who's on his way out. The old vise at my shop....

Yeah, another 'what is this vise' thread. We have two of these old things at the shop where I started a couple weeks ago and neither of them seem to have any name on them. The main reason I'm posting today is to figure out where I can get a replacement jaw pad for the one pictured...I'm sure...

    ANOTHER Asian Floor Jack Rebuild?

Attached are pics of my Chinese Michelin 3.5 jack that I picked up a couple years ago at a seized property auction (auto shop went under). I think I have 40 bucks in it not including the oil. It provided me some decent service under my '89 Burban and '91 3/4 pickup but always tried to dribble...
