    Finding An Underground Water Leak

We've discovered we have an underground water leak between the meter near the street and the house. Any suggestions on how to locate it without just starting to dig? About ten feet of the run is under the sidewalk/driveway. Any help appreciated. Don Ivey Smithfield, NC

    Anyone Use Torque Multiplier Tool?

I am getting a bit old, and don't weigh too much, so when I get in an awkward position and have to apply high torque to a bolt or nut, I find it difficult sometimes. I've heard of torque multipliers, and wondered if anyone has experience with them. As far as accuracy, if I needed 90 ft/lbs...

Can You Replace 20amp Breaker with 30amp?

I have a Maxjax that requires 30amp breaker. My garage is fairly new, but has 20amp breakers for wall outlets. Can I just replace one with a 30amp breaker to use for the Maxjax? Thanks, Don Ivey Smithfield, NC

    Air Line Questions

I have a Quincy QT5 and want to hook up air lines to it. Do I need to go through an air filter before the hose to fill tires, or is that only for using air tools, painting, blast cabinet, etc. What about water separators. are they needed in addition to air filter, or can I get by without one...

Special Oil for Quincy Air compressor?

I've been using Quin-Cip oil for the motor on the Quincy QT-5 over the years, but have run out and wondered if I need to buy this "special" oil (if I can find it), or if there are other oils just as good. Sorry to start an oil thread :( Don Ivey Smithfield, NC

    Secret to Removing Old Cabinets?

We're remodeling the kitchen, and I have the opportunity to reuse the cabinets in my garage. However, I can't find any screws/nails holding the cabinets to the walls, or to each other. Are there any "secrets" to removing cabinets without destroying them? Thanks, Don Ivey Raleigh, NC

    Sealing New Concrete?

I just had my slab poured this morning, and am unsure when/if I need to seal it to protect as construction of the garage continues. Should I wait until they finish, or try to do something now. If now, should I do the ultimate epoxy sealant, or something temporary, and quicker, until later...

    Where to Put Floor Drain

I'm building a new 30'x30' garage with a drain, and am unsure where best place for drain will be. I want a scissors lift under a car, so don't want the drain under center of where car will be, so am thinking between where two cars will sit. Also, I want floor fairly level for alignments and...

Best Place to get Garage Plans

I'm interested in building a 30'X24' garage with loft for storage, and would rather not go to an architect, but rather, buy plans that I can give to my builder. Is this reasonable? Where are some good sources for plans, and are there any "gotchas" I'm unaware of? I want a two-post lift, so...
