    DeWalt 12v & 18v adapters

I'm in the same position as the op. I have mostly switched over to the Dewalt 20v line, but I have many 12v XRP tools that I have not replaced (r/a drill, drywall gun etc). There was a guy on ebay selling a 3D printed adapter for the 12v nicad platform, I think you had to transfer some...

    1/4” compact cordless ratchet

I loved my Skil 1/4” rechargeable ratchet, however something went wrong in the circuitry make it act like it has a bad switch. I determined that the micro switch is working fine, so it is apparently something beyond my skill level to repair. I am looking for something rechargeable & most...

A/C in Garage - Added Benefits!

But your dehumidifier is just an air conditioner without the benefit of exhausting the hot air outside. I'd consider an air conditioner. A mini split would probably save you a bunch on electricity

    Garage Hermit Mode

I'll be out there getting stuff done (at least pretending) & the minute I sit down to take a break or look up something on the internet, she'll come strolling in: "out here hiding in the garage again??". 🙄 One time I got caught napping in the car. Freaked her out. 😁

Sorry, the inner child in me made me quote this.

    Replacing LiftMaster with Chamberlain

Um, that door probably weighs 150lbs or more. The RJ070 unwinds the tension of the springs & the door lowers to the floor by gravity. It does not exert any downpressure because that would be like pushing a rope (actually cable). But I'm pretty sure that 150+ lbs is quite a bit more then the...

    2 post lift ,concrete,expansion joint

Not mine, but this 2 post lift was professionally installed several years ago, and used daily ever since. The other leg is also over the same horizontal cut. Not saying it’s right, but I’ve seen several others similar. I even know of one that was installed over an actual expansion joint tar strip.

    Keeping Garage Clean

Time is more of the issue for me. I have a hard time stopping before the last minute I should be somewhere else.

Trench Drain - any repair ideas?

If there isn't a drop in replacement that fits, I'd line that with 2 or 3 layers of fiberglass mat. Clean/grind it well so it adheres to the top angle portion, or just tear it out, add a bottom (if there's no concrete under the trough) & bond it to the concrete sides. Add color pigment to the...

    Best electrical tape?

Many years ago my grandfather (who was a plumber) called me a ***** when I turned off the electric to change a switch. Then showed me something similar to your technique. He lived to a ripe old age.

Suggestions for a local company or chain that can mix a paint code (2 stage)

I think you're much more likely to find a color matching expert at the paint store. Not saying that some painters can't tint, but they use thier expertise in blending & making a close color look right on the car. When they need a better color match, many turn to thier supplier for help.

Suggestions for a local company or chain that can mix a paint code (2 stage)

It is the angle, & it happens with almost every color on that car (5th gen). So much so, that GM came out with a bulletin on it to help dealerships explain away the non-issue to discerning customers.

Lift modifications Thread- Lets see them!

Here’s a simple one: Not willing to pay almost $90 for the miniature dock bumpers that is the door protector kit for my Forward lift, I came up with a better & much less expensive solution. Ran across a couple nice soft foam garden kneeler pads on clearance for the season, and came up with this...

sealing garage with vertical siding panels

Sounds like a plan, but I would spray something on the outside first (spray silicone, Pam cooking spray?) to keep whatever foam that mushrooms out from adhering to the slab or steel. That stuff is tenacious, but without adhesion should break away easily.

    Car mat cleaning life hack

My wife puts everything in the dishwasher. Doesn’t always work out well for the non-dishwasher safe stuff. I'd be pissed if a set of Weathertechs came out distorted.

Disposable Nitrile Gloves - What's the "Sweet Spot" in thickness?

But sooo many automotive products that you come in contact with during normal repair and maintenance are petroleum based. I've always used Nitrile as do all the professional mechanics I know. I find it hard to believe that latex is the better choice.
