How about adding it to the "Directory of top threads" sticky? That way the form doesn't look so cluttered.

Does anyone use line wrenches that AREN'T Snap On?

You could have had this set, and what a deal. :headscrat http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=330211896718&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=014 Cheap at twice the price...

    HF Ujoint press

When you replace your set would you mind parting with one of the old metal disks? I've got the same set and lost one, don't know which one off hand. It'd be worth a few bucks to me.

I wonder how these would hold up. http://www.thetoolwarehouse.net/shop/V8-8811.html I've never heard of them before. Someone buy a set and let me know how they work. :lol_hitti

    Are You Short On Wrenches?

Are the Walmart specials the polished professionals that don't mention proto? :headscrat There are 13 piece sets on e-dumpster for <$30. They "look" ok but I'm wondering if they're any better than Craftsman raised panels.

    OTC tools, what's the scoop?

Any opinions? There's a fair amount of stuff on ebay. The "sticky" says that the light duty stuff is made in Taiwan. Their website doesn't mention a Taiwan manufacturing location. Is their light duty stuff any better than the cheap Chinese stuff? Thanks...

How many Amps to you have in your shop?

I've got a 100A 220V panel in my 27'x40'. I've had the 2 ton window AC, parts washer, bead blaster (vacuum & lights), 15 x 4 tube light fixtures and the air compressor (Eaton 5hp) all running at the same time with no problems, yet. If you've got the money, space and an available hookup go with...

    rust removal electrolysis question

I did a search on Hydrogen Embrittlement since the topic of electrolysis has come up a couple times recently. It's just something to be aware of. http://www.htpaa.org.au/article-electro.php

Never even knew they made these!

Dang, for $1500 you'd expect better than Craftsman. It's not like you can take it down to the local Sears store if you spread a wrench. They must expect that you won't be able to apply that much force to one.

"All that tool money comes back" - Bull!

The government doesn't own the money that he earned. They get a mandatory % of it in taxes. If he could reduce the government's % for the full price of the tools more power to him. .02 If it were possible to deduct the full price, I'd turn wrenches part time for a year at a quickie lube...

    Micrometers and such

I've been watching ebay for about two weeks now. There hasn't been anything come along that was what I want and in my price range. I can get the Fowler 0-6" outside micrometer set for $180. The depth micrometers come in at $66. It sounds like they'll be fine for the limited use that they'll be...

    Micrometers and such

I'm looking at buying some outside micrometers and depth micrometers. There's no way I can justify spending the money to get Starrett, B&S or Mitutoyo. Even the used prices on ebay are more than I can afford. So, that leaves me with Fowler and the generic chineses stuff. My understanding is that...

    Welding Cart

I ended up replacing the casters a couple days after the original post. Still haven't done anything about the rear wheels. They seem to have hardened since it was assembled. That could just be because the garage is unheated and it was very cold for a couple weeks. If they soften up this summer...
