    Sand Blaster Question

I've got the same one. If you can supply it with a high enough quantity of dry air it will do an adequate job. For free I wouldn't turn one down.

    Craftsman Warranty Going Away?

Try this on for sad. My mom got me a 1/4 ratchet/socket sets in a blow molded case for Christmas. First thing I did when I got home was pull out the ratchet and give it a spin. It slips about 180 deg one out of ~four spins. This is new out of the box with finger pressure on the driver! The guts...

Compression - Show Off Your Compressor

Deja vu on unloading the compressor. I ended up taking the belt guard off and slipping a chain through. The engine crane had enough reach to lift the pallet 1/4" off the bed, after I let some air out of the back tires of the truck. We had two 10' 2x4's slipped through the base of the pallet for...

    Temorary walls

Contemplating the same thing here. Has anyone got pictures of a home made curtain wall that they would care to share? I'm always looking for ideas.

I Think I finally found the right epoxy to use

The surface flaws I believe could have been avoided with better application technique. It didn’t go a far as advertised. It did stick and soak into the surface pretty good. It did have more than a 30 minute pot life, an hour is pushing it. I’ve experimented with the “toughness” in a concealed...

    Open air sandblaster: Clark SB9008

Picked this little gem up about fifteen years ago from HF. I could only use it for small projects because the compressor I had couldn't keep up with it. Seemed to work ok... I wasn't exactly using it under ideal conditions. Can't wait to see what it'll do with a real compressor behind it.

    Tools found in road

Before I was a teenager, I walked the back roads picking up aluminum cans and returnable bottles for pocket change. PITA to sort the steel from the aluminum, had to pick them up to tell. Found a few tools too. Mostly craftsman and chinese sockets, and the occasional screwdriver. The best score...

    Eaton compressors

Placed my order for the 80gal variety last friday. When I was in the shop they said there would be a 4 week wait. Maybe that will play into your decision. The folks were real nice to talk with and answered all my questions. Before this one I had a 5hp (advertised) 60gal Campbell Hausfeld that I...

I Think I finally found the right epoxy to use

I walked on it easily with wet shoes that had very little tread. I haven't tried stepping in a puddle yet. The surface has a little orange peel texture.

    EATON tools

Just went up to the Eaton showroom last friday. After a nice talk with one of the guys I placed my order. In ~4 weeks there should be a 5hp two stage 80gal compressor in the garage. 19.5 CFM @ 100psi and i'm giddy :bounce:

I Think I finally found the right epoxy to use

Guess I'm the guinea pig for the cornerstone impact epoxy. I put down two coats on my garage floor, the second of which was two weeks ago. The first coat soaked in really good. I don't think this stuff will be coming off any time soon. It does have a few more bubbles than I would have liked, but...

Trying to decide on heat, any thoughts???????

RonBou, What's the sqft of your garage and how big is the tank your heater runs off of? Oh yeah, and how many BTU is the heater? Thanks

What is the best option for me??

Check to see what your local code says. Around here I can put up to a 120gal tank next to the building. If it was 50ft away, or buried, it could be any size I want. The 120gal tanks are ~52" high and ~30" in diameter btw. I'm looking at a 75K btu for my 1000sqft garage. It just hasn't been cold...

    Engine Stand

Don't know if they publish them. :headscrat My brother has picked up two stands when the truck came around. He said they usually have them on sale a couple times a year. Order them one week and get them the next.

Nothing reasonably cost effective or enforceable.

    Engine Stand

http://www.cornwelltools.com/OnlineCatalog/Shop%20Equipment/321liftingequipm.html If you can catch them on sale you can get them for about $100. They're real nice stands.

    Neiko Tools "USA"

Tell me about it!!! We recently found a website of a Chinese company that is copying one of our products. They list our company name on their web page and say that their product is a direct replacement for ours.

    Lighting...

My shop is a little over 1000 Sq Ft. There are 15 4' 4 bulb fixtures suspended from the ceiling. I currently have 2 32W bulbs in each fixture. This comes out to .89W per Sq Ft. Personally I think it's just enough light. I may even put 4 bulbs in a few of the fixtures.

The rise and fall of building product prices

Me too. I was at Lowes today eyeballing what I'm going to need. Think I'll wait a week or three and see what happens. Anything I can save on copper can be applied to the purchase of other toys err I mean tools. :)
