A few weeks ago I picked up the tekton 6 pt socket set (1/4, 3/8 and 1/2) to replace my small collection of crescent and craftsman 12-points. Also have a steel slider project coming up for the jeep, so needed a metal cutting saw

More torque box progress. I have a repair section to install. Will need to trim it a bit, but I hope to get it installed in the coming weeks as time allows

I started repairing the torque box on my Jeep. The center body mount was rusted out. I was able to drill out 5 spot welds using a rotabroach before the bit shattered. These bits are incredibly sharp though and are working well.

I've collected an "ok" set of sockets/ratchets over the years but wanted something a little nicer that filled in the gaps. I opted for Tektons 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 set.

Recently replaced the suspension on my jeep and am now using johnny joints everywhere. So, had to buy snap ring pliers (knipex) to service the joints, and 1-1/2 and 1-5/8 wrenches (tekton) for the jam nuts

A buddy of mine 3d-printed some milwaukee battery/tool holders for me. I spent some time this last weekend getting them mounted above the work bench with some leftover 2x4 I had laying around. It really opens up the space available to me on the bench and the tool chest.

    HOA horrors?

C'mon now, Im not saying homes outside of an HOA aren't. It can be nice to have something in place that keeps your neighbors from being messy though.

    No insulation vs

The exterior walls in my garage were open 2x4. In the winter, it was usually ambient temps or just a few degrees warmer. Walking/working in a garage that is 20° is not fun. I spent <$500 and insulated with Rockwool. Made a huge difference, around 20-30° above ambient temps. Turn a heater on and...

    HOA horrors?

Both homes I've owned were in HOAs. I do think they have their place--I like driving thru a clean neighborhood. First one we were in was not bad at all. We read the bylaws and CCR's before buying. IIRC, there were 99 homes all built between 1998 and 2004. My only complaint was the neighborhood...

How do you park your vehicles?

In my 20' wide garage, both daily's in the driveway and the jeep and motorcycle in the garage and as close to the wall as possible. Usually gives me half the space to work in. If Im working on a bigger project, then I simply park one daily on the street, back the jeep and bike into the driveway...

What was your first OBD2 scanner, and how did you choose it?

Torque Pro App and a $20 obii dongle. Very helpful and I can monitor all sorts of things with it. Also can move it between all my vehicles.

Battery life expectancy with electric push mowers?

Have had a ryobi mower for 4 or 5 years now with a single 6ah battery. No issues yet. Just pulled it out for the first mow of the year and the battery still had a charge. Though, I will say my yard is not very big; probably 1000 sq ft is all.

    Soundproofing Walls?

The rockwool will make a big difference just by itself.

Not in my garage, but my folks place. My dad bought this '84 K2500 new. Its hovering around 272k miles and has been sitting out behind the horse shed for the last 8 years. We put in a new battery, fresh gas, changed oil and dumped some starting fluid down the carb. After a few tries it fired...

    (A) Hobart 210 MVP or (B) Lincoln 211i. A or B, there is no option C in this case.

Great find on the Hobart 210 MVP. When I was looking for a 240v machine, the Hobart 210 and the Lincoln 211 were on my list. I ended up with the Lincoln and have been happy with it. Don't think you can go wrong with either choice.

Two new implements of destruction for a kitchen remodel. The oscillating tool paid for itself when I had to remove the formica countertop from underneath the 4 year old window sill. The circular saw surprised me on how many cuts I was able to get on a 12ah HO battery.

Agree, its the one thing I do not miss about Wyoming. The wind is brutal. 50+mph sustained winds are not uncommon there. I grew up in Goshen County. Went to the middle school there in Fort Laramie long before it was converted into a community center.

Paint Brushes / Rollers Clean and Reuse or Toss?

I have a few natural bristle brushes I clean and reuse. Rollers I'll clean maybe once or twice before they get tossed.

    Vise vices--OCD in the shop

I close mine; but there is no clamping force. I already have limited space, I don't want 6" protruding into my walkway in front of the work bench if I can help it.
