Weldor’s opinion on this Jackson Hood

I picked up a viking 1740 for $120ish last year. They've gone up a little bit in price since then. But I have no complaints. Great clarity, lots of adjustability (shade, weld/grind mode, delay).

    Welder Plug to Breaker Panel

Ive got the 211i too. At 22.5 amps I wanted to get #10 wire. Found #8 was cheaper so went with that and a 40 amp breaker.

    Cost of welding gas?

I bought my 125 cu tank full, thru weldfabulous. IIRC, I paid $369 in early 2023. Local air gas supply said (same timeframe) the gas to fill it would be around $110. This was for C25

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Got the rest of the cabinet doors primered. Hope to lay color one of these evenings.

    Let's see your toolbox.

Not as nice as some of the ones posted, but the Husky was heavily discounted due to a "blemish". The US General was a $20 neighborhood find.

    Electric Garage Heater

I've been using a Dr. Infrared 966 (engineered US/assembled China) for a couple of months. No complaints yet. I've got it set at low on 3k watt and my garage has been holding steady at 53°. If I crank it to high on 6k watt I can get my 20x25 garage up to 70°.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I've always struggled finding a 2k clear locally. I'll have to check out the NAPA down the road!

Show us your Vintage Automobile Paraphernalia

My inlaws owned a Chevrolet dealership back in the day. My wife was given two of these Lackner clocks which they had at the dealership. Both have June 1956 written on the back. Relics for sure, and the neon still works! Had to put in new transformers though and updated the plugs.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Pulled cabinet doors getting ready for paint. I use my air compressor to help clean nooks and crannies. Put the hose on yesterday and there was a massive air leak from the quick connect fitting. Put a new one and the leak is mostly gone. I think there is a small knick on the hose fitting that...

    Let's See Your Garage Dog

We've got this goober. She doesn't like the garage though. We also have this cat who tolerates us. She's the alpha in the house. Occasionally, the neighbors cat will come and hang out with me in the garage. She roams around the cul de sac and pays everyone a visit.

    Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT tworley's garage

I had to take down my stereo when I was putting in the insulation batts last month. Its been sitting on my workbench ever since. Last night I decided to hook it up again. A little bit of left over white melamine, 4 left over shelving brackets and a couple of staples for the speaker wiring and...

Lennox furnace "burner failed to ignite"

It's intermittent. The only other gas appliance is our water heater, and it hasn't had any issues. I'll check that tonight, thanks for the suggestion. I received the new valve, but the furnace hasn't stumbled all weekend, thankfully (well below 0° here).

Lennox furnace "burner failed to ignite"

Does the split-second drop to 0V on the gas valve before jumping up to 26V mean anything? The fact that I was tapping on the gas valve and it working for the last two days leads me to believe it is sticking. So I agree with you. This is a valve with only 2 wires running to it. There is an...

Lennox furnace "burner failed to ignite"

I'm waiting for the furnace lock out again before I try to jump the pressure switch to isolate it.

Lennox furnace "burner failed to ignite"

Forced air heating. Lennox furnace manufactured sometime in 2011/12 with a Google Nest thermostat. New filter. New flame sensor in 2022. New igniter. The issue is the furnace is not igniting and the control panel is flashing 5 times indicating"gas burner failed to ignite". Watching the call...

Things in your garage that you wish WEREN'T in your garage.

Garden/lawn supplies; hoses, sprinklers, shovels, rakes, seeds, pot, weedeater and mower. I'd like to build a small shed next year. Ladders; I have a multi-position aluminum ladder that is 10-12', a 32' fiberglass extension ladder and a 28' multi-position aluminum ladder. The 32' is too big and...

Finished garage needs new lighting. halp

I used 10, 4-foot LEDs from primelights. They call it the "bolt". 5k color temp, each unit draws 44 watts. Looking at their website now and they have gone up considerably in price, unfortunately ($73 and 6500 lumens).
