    Vinyl siding info needed

Once you have it started, just pull it off. I'd hire a reputable siding guy to check things out. They can do a good job and they know exactly what they are doing.

Sealing asphalt. What do I need to know?

No cracks or bad spots. It's fairly new. See this thread. http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17462 Is it too soon to seal? I would like to get it done before the leaves fall. I've heard contractors like to water down their sealant.

Sealing asphalt. What do I need to know?

I'm going to seal or have it sealed by the guy who paved the driveway (only because he told us it will void the warranty if someone else does it) and was if there was anything I needed to know before I have it done. Latex or oil based? Or any other info I might want to consider.

    Dumb dumb dumb!!!

Thanks! :) BTW, that's "Mrs. Money Pit" feet! I'm convinced the metal was stressed and when it was tapped by the hitch it cracked. Oh well. It's fixed and done with.

Ok guys, I got the trailer back today. Here are a few pictures. It was only a little over $100 to fix. 70% was labor. I'm glad it's over and I will be much more careful when borrowing things. Thanks for the input guys!!!

    Dumb dumb dumb!!!

I think that's what happened. I beleive it came off the ball before or as I was pulling out of the driveway and then made a sharp right to head down the street and that's when it got all twisted. I do feel better about it since posting. Mainly because it looks like it had been nailed a few...

    Dumb dumb dumb!!!

Yeah, I'm not exactly sure what kind of damage it had before I dinged it backing up. It's been passed around to 2 or 3 people before it got to me. I did see that there were some older bump marks on the front of the coupling. I need to drop the bad habit I have of barrowing relatives stuff and...

    Dumb dumb dumb!!!

I'm not sure what cracked it. It could have been from the small impact when I backed into it. I really DIDN'T hit it all that hard. Or it could have cracked when the coupling came off the ball and got lodged between the hitch and coupling assembally which is when it bent all up. Either way, it...

    Dumb dumb dumb!!!

I didn't hit it that hard. Maybe 1/2 mph. Though the trailer was stationary and is loaded down with several hundred pounds of countertop and other misc. trash. The thing is, I can't get it on the hitch ball to take it anywhere.

    Dumb dumb dumb!!!

Ok, looks like I hit it pretty good. I cracked the stupid thing. Looks like it's going to have to be removed and replaced. The wood is for the perspective because it's supposed to be level. The second pic shows the crack from me backing into it.

    Dumb dumb dumb!!!

I was going to take my trailer to a relatives house so they could use it to take some stuff to the dump and as I was backing up I hit the coupling/ball mount on the trailer and bent it by accident. The bad thing was that I didn't notice it and lowered the trailer to the ball and thought...

Asphalt Driveway... I'll be the test monkey

Ed, I paid $4500 for the entire job. Not sure what oil prices are right now but I think it's safe to say that it's going to get worse before it gets better. I haven't measured it yet but at the widest point, less the flair off the apron, it's approx. 24' across and tapers to 20' at the entrance...

Asphalt Driveway... I'll be the test monkey

Thanks for posting the link to the photobucket site. The reason I wanted it paved is because it looks a lot better than weeds. I also won't be tracking fine bits of gravel/mud into the garage and having to sweep it out every few days. Also my daugher loves to play outside and we have a basket...

Asphalt Driveway... I'll be the test monkey

Well, funny thing about photobucket. I guess they only let you link a few pics then cut you off. I'm trying to find another server to host the darn things. I have already resized them so that's not the problem. I'll get the rest up soon.

Asphalt Driveway... I'll be the test monkey

Ok, here are the pics I promised.PLEASE post feedback! I think that goes without saying though. :) I took this before they showed up. My driveway was old crush & run. I would put weed killer down every spring to kill all the weeds.

Asphalt Driveway... I'll be the test monkey

I can see how you arrived at your screen name. Ouch! That was harsh. :Twitch: :) Seriously though, the wife and I went by the house he paved earlier today and talked to the lady he did the work for and she was happy with the job. She also gave me a reference to some vinyl windows too. It...

Asphalt Driveway... I'll be the test monkey

I did a search on the states liscence board and it looks like all the people I looked up (3 or 4) that I found in the yellow pages and they are all crooked. I might as well let him do it. I'll be sure to post pics.
