    Copper flashing under siding?

Another thing to note is that when they put the flashing the siding is raised .25 inch and without is in contact with the surface. Not sure what type of siding it is, but it shouldn't be in contact with the ground, due to water rot.

First, glad to see you back. As to the question, I think I'd do it out of PVC dimensional lumber and make a decorative top to it. I understand the hesitancy to the first option listed as you know you'll beat it up weed eating. The PVC dimensional approach would be stout and rot resistant.

There's no way Alice will be "The Goon". So I'm guessing she's either training to be a WAC, or a WASP. I'm hoping a WASP seeing her older brother has had problems in the enlisted ranks. lol

To be honest, I've always been a snob about metal carports. I always thought they were flimsy and yet I never felt that way about metal garages. I've always worried about wind loads on it without having walls. After seeing what yours has survived I have changed my mind. I have a spot on my...

I haven't seen you do it in awhile, but are you still making your son tools every year? What about your daughter, does she also get tools, or do you make something unique for her?

Gregor, I can see you maturing with your videos and time and practice will pay off. Sadly, when you have videos with Tillamook in the name I am forced to eat ice cream, Malted Moo to be honest. I love that creamy good Tillamook ice cream. Okay, my question was if you watch Paul Brodie on...

Classic Mini DIY Carport to Garage Conversion

Just like that, you have a new subscriber. Instead of the breezeway, have you given thought to French doors heading to the backyard? It would give you some added footprint and the ability to move your Mini into the backyard if you ever wanted to do so. I'm looking forward to the progress on the...

A bench grinder with a wire wheel selection is very nice. I would suggest a small media blast cabinet. I finally got one and have to say it is so relaxing to clean parts in just moments without small wires being slung in every direction. I'm still learning what media works best for me and how to...

You might want to replace those jaws with some new ones. The tops of them look like they've seen a few things in their life. Or get some poly vice jaws from Wilton that fit over the existing jaws. They are nice in that they let you work on stuff without marring it from the knurled jaws.

I think Ralphie needs to be a junior enlisted member. You could then promote him and demote him as needed. One day he can be a sergeant and the next a PFC. Who knows, he might make it to MSgt one day. I hate to tell you this, but Ralphie sounds like he might have Ford blue blood. Just kidding...

I'd have thought by now Ralphie would have had a promotion. He should have earned his wings and butter bar at a minimum. On that note, you should get him an OD dog collar and tack on his rank.

Since you are doing it in an MCM style the simple answer is a strip of aluminum cove trim. It would be period correct and hide the seam. https://eagle-aluminum.com/retro-trim-nostalgic-50s/ For the outlet cover I think I'd try and make one out of formica that fills the entire void and use...

Of course, you do realize that now you have the basic skills to electroplate? Go buy some zinc and you can do a nice zinc plating before you paint it. (Laughs an evil laugh of leading Sakurama down another rabbit hole...)
