New garage paintjob (on 1 wall so far)

It's been about a month and I have made some more progress on the walls. The paint continued to peel away and I lost my Harley sign that took me three weeks to paint (and only a few hours to easily remove from the wall). I started on the back wall, then moved the Harley wall at the end...

    work benches... from scratch

Like many that have posted in this thread, I have been inspired. I have two benches in the garage now, a wood and a metal bench. I think I am going to sale them both, or give them away if needed, and start with a new idea. I want to make it about 13 feet long, possibly in two sections that bolt...

New garage paintjob (on 1 wall so far)

It sure did. And with almost no effort. Big paper sized sheets of paint just peeling off under the putty knife.

New garage paintjob (on 1 wall so far)

Yep, she helps me at every step of the way, on any project I have going, for the exception of welding. The mask doesn't fit her yet. The opposite wall is my favorite. My hope is to get it uncovered again so it will show once more.

New garage paintjob (on 1 wall so far)

Awhile back, maybe two or three weeks ago, I posted a few pictures of problems I was having with trying to paint my walls in the garage. I had a big LongHorn logo on the wall and managed to do a poor job of transforming the bland gray background into something better. Here were some of those...

I measured my usable garage space today....

Good ideas. I have heard "shed" loud and clear. I'm going to look for something in the backyard to get that lawn equipment out of there. I think that will clear out a lot of room. general stuff that is just unsightly.

I measured my usable garage space today....

I have a standard 2 car garage, but my home builder, Lennar, decided it a good idea to build a 6" "step" three feet in from the top of the garage. So, imagine this: Cars pull in from the door side. Three feet shy of the back of the garage is a 6" step that leads inside the house. So, after a...

    Motorcycle Garages Only

It took me three weeks, off and on a little bit each day. I was between jobs at the time so took the opportunity to paint this one up. I'm a novice too. I just used a small print out on a piece of paper and used the paper as the "wall" to center it. I measured all distances from the edge of the...

    My Hot Dog Grill

Here are a couple of pictures of my "screw up" that resulted in vent holes. I was going to drill holes in the top that I could cover up to control heat, but ran out energy for this silly project after the sides didn't line up right. But, vent holes nonetheless. And here is a slanty picture...

    My Hot Dog Grill

Yep, those are my forward controls for my bobber I'm building. They are mounted now, but at the time I was messing with the grill project, they weren't mounted. The holes didn't line up with my frame so I had to drill them out a little. I did end up with some vent holes on the side of the grill...

    Looking for workbench design inspiration

I am re-working my garage layout in an effort to make it much cleaner and workable. One of my goals is to "hide" my lawn mower, weed eater, gas cans, etc. My idea is to build a long workbench, one that stretches the length of the long wall in my 2 car garage. I would like to build it in such a...

    Motorcycle Garages Only

Thanks Lawnman. The bar and shield is still displayed real proud, even though it's behind the welding bench now. The Longhorn, due to a painting mishap, is now gone. The whole wall is primed white. I'm still a Longhorn fan, even though I went to Texas State in San Marcos.

    My Hot Dog Grill

The rack is the handle for the lid. It's hollow in the hopes it won't get too hot to the touch. I went to Lowe's and got some barbecue pit paint. Withstands temps up the 3000 degrees or something ridiculous like that. Good flat black paint.

    Race deck flooring

This may have been posted earlier and I just missed it, but how to Racedeck hold up to welding and cutting? Will it melt or anything? My concrete under my welding table is black and pitted real bad. How does RD stand up to it? And what about pulling a motorcycle jack all over it every...

    Garage Painting help

Thanks very much. This is good advice! I have scraped off all the loose stuff I can find. I have now spackled the areas of paint that I didn't get and the holes. Tomorrow I will sand the hole thing, clean, then prime. Hopefully tomorrow I will have new photos to post of a freshly primed wall...

    Garage Painting help

I printed a copy of the logo on a standard sheet of paper. Then I measured from the edges in Centimeters then scaled it up to fit my wall. It was all math to make it fit. Once I got the straight lines done, I then used string to get the non-straight lines in order to pencil them in. I have the...
