    Stick Built Roof—Supporting Wall Question

Okay, I did some more looking... I was incorrect, there is a "beam" under the center of the house. It consists of 3 2X10s running down the center of the house with the floor joists attached to it. It's not to scale. The actual floor span is around 26'6" I get that... but my "professional"...

    Stick Built Roof—Supporting Wall Question

Okay guys and gals, I'm confuzzled. My living room is divided off from my kitchen/dining area by a wall I assume to be a supporting wall. I want to remove said wall, and I called in a structural engineer to tell me what sort of beam I'll an 3 1/4”X 18” LVL beam need to span 18-20 feet. Here's...

    Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT Bob Heine's Auto Emporium

Thank you, sir. I'd offer to buy you a beer, but I'm afraid Wisconsin is a bit of a hike from east Tennessee! One thing I have learned in my life; we all screw up. I've sure had my share of hard lessons! Another is; everyone can teach you something. I've learned from teens and I've learned from...

And the one's who ***** about the "gravy" guy the most are usually the ones who come in, have a cup of coffee, get some grub off the roach coach, eat breakfast, pull a car into their stall, go chat with half the shop, go get a snack... All while "Mr. Gravy" is bustin' *** (and has been since...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

To be fair, vent windows had nothing to do with cooling the interior and everything to do with circulating air through it. The modern "flow through" ventilation is the replacement for the vent window. Nonetheless, there are a lot of modern conveniences I love, but likely more that I loathe...

Rustoleum spray cans - absolute garbage

Once the goop is in the tube, you're a bit SOL. The secret is to shake the ever-loving **** out of them before you try to spray. I use the Sawzall attachment, and have little to no trouble.

Rustoleum spray cans - absolute garbage

Years ago, I bought two; one for me and one for my dad. I can't say how many cans I would have tossed without the thing.

    Wood Stove for the shop

That would kinda rule out kerosene heaters and propane heaters, wouldn't it?

    Wood Stove for the shop

I DEFINITELY want to make sure I install it correctly. Currently I heat with a couple 23K BTU kerosene heaters and haven't set anything on fire, yet (LOL). I do have a nice place to put it, I think.

    Wood Stove for the shop

Looking at this Wood Stove to heat the shop (currently use a couple 23K BTU kerosene heaters). The garage is 20'X24'. Still need to insulate the roof, but the walls are insulated. What are your thoughts?

    The repurposing thread

Nice! Back in the 80s we had a '60 Convertible. It was used in a music video for a regional band. Currently my dad has a '59 we built (last car we built together as he can't work on 'em anymore due to age and dementia).

    Did you know?

The difference between the CE and China Export markings is so subtle on paper that consumers can often confuse them without even realising. Despite the great similarity of their appearance, it’s important to understand that they actually have nothing to do with one another. While a CE marking is...
