What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Did this Monday... I hated the top boot (a stiff vinyl), so I purchased a nice Robins Stayfast boot). I cut the old boot so it covers the top while the hardtop is on so sun coming in through the rear window won't damage the inside of the top. A couple straps and voilà, a hardtop lift...

This is the best shop chemical I have ever used!!

Back when I lived at my folks' house and had to park my motorcycle outside, I would spray everything (chrome, metal, paint) with WD-40 before covering it for the winter. Come spring, I'd give it a good wash with S-100 (great cleaner/degreaser that will not hurt paint or vinyl). No rust or corrosion!

    Ceiling Joists

Just had a thought... I have a stick built roof (rafters, not trusses) with 2X6 ceiling joists and a central supporting wall. I want to get rid of the supporting wall. Could I sister the joists with Douglas Fir 2X10s to achieve a 24' span? We have no storage in the attic.

    Gas or wood fireplace?

Wood burning, please. If I wanted to watch my furnace, I'd go sit in the utility room.

How much longer can Matco keep up the charade

Whatever they might have said it means, the origins of MATCO is "Mac Allied Tool Company." They were the half of MAC Tools which brought in the rebranded stuff before they split from MAC.

    Used Stand By Generators

Anyone purchased a used stand by generator? We're live in a rural area and trees, idiots, and other issues seem to regularly take out our power. My wife has MS and needs A/C, plus she works from home. What sort of things should I be looking for? Anything I should avoid? Or is this just a...

1966 F100 EcoBoost Engine Swap (EcoBoosted)

I'm gathering what I need to put a Duratec 3.7 V6 (from a 2012 Mustang) and the corresponding 6-speed manual into a 1987 Mustang. I have the factory ECM and original wiring harness, but I'm thinking of running the Holley Terminator system and either an ITB set up ro a custom, 2-throttle manifold.

New Cornwell Z Series 120 tooth Flex Head Ratchets

Priced Snap On? Cornwell has never been good at their fliers. I don't think they've ever printed on without some sort of typo. I think they have the executives kids make them.

New Cornwell Z Series 120 tooth Flex Head Ratchets

There is a reason I stopped being a dealer... They were good at telling me all they were "doing" for me, but when I could buy the exact same tool from a warehouse, sell it for less, and make more money, it just got to me. For some reason, they seemed to think slapping the Cornwell name and...
