I would like an anvil for light “blacksmithing” work. Essentially, heating 1/4” strap, etc., and flattening it, rounding edges, and that sort of thing. After looking at the used all steel anvils for sale in my area, it looks like most have had the bejeezus beat out ot he hardened steel tops...

As I am moving some other interior walls around, and thus the existing drywall would be a hodge-podge of repairs, etc., I was thinking of stripping all the drywall off the ceiling which should give me room to manipulate the new joists into place.

There is a ceiling. 2x6s are on 16 centers.
