    LED vs Halogen

So I've been looking at some recessed lighting fixtures to place in my soffit. Except every light that I buy as an LED costs a **** ton, AND the bulbs are sodered into the trim piece usually. So if I had to replace the bulb the entire trim piece is trashed. My question is why doesn't everyone...

Jack stands: what happened to these?

No wonder they were cheap. You're an idiot if you use those under a car and deserve everything that is going to happen if they fail. There's only so much we can tell you politely before outright calling you an idiot. Plus you got had if you paid for them.

Question about shed floor with what was provided in kit

Put the weed fabric down first and gravel on top, or the fabric will blow away.Plus the fabric prevents it from coming from the ground, so you need it touching the ground. You don't need to staple the felt, just lie it on TOP of the floor joists, and your osb on top. It wont sag at all. Just...

    Down side to spray foam??

If you do 2 in of CC, you won't need anything else. At the very least don't buy the material and see how the foam does by itself. Just do your roof with the batt and see how the building changes.

Question about shed floor with what was provided in kit

No worries. I'm only posting it on this thread so others can see it if they need. Don't use the concrete blocks, if you do then your floor joists can go right over it like in the pic above. If it were me I'd dig a tiny trench about an inch or two deep, fill a light layer level with the ground...

    Down side to spray foam??

Just read the venting part. You NEVER vent anything when spray foaming it. Matter of fact, their close up your soffits and ridge vents and spray it closed because everything becomes conditioned space. If you add like an attic fan and run it you are just defeating the purpose of having spray...

    Down side to spray foam??

Spray foam is the BEST. Just do all your rough construction, electrical, plumbing, and all before and cover everything you don't want foam it. It will travel farther than spray paint. It 1. adds structural rigidity 2. takes a building envelope and completely throws it out the window by making...

HF Toolboxes Workbench - Phase 3

I never understood why you guys just didn't type it up on word, and then put it in the handle. Just take the little plastic end piece out, and slide the laminate plastic peice on the drawer handle out, put your paper in, and voila! Costs nothing but a sheet of paper and ink.

Question about shed floor with what was provided in kit

Ha no worries. Ever since finding GJ it has become my new Facebook. Hot dipped is better, but not by much. If I see it on the shelf I’d rather reach for that, but you need the right nail which is more important. Go with the 3 inch. It’ll give better holding power. General rule of thumb is the...

Question about shed floor with what was provided in kit

There are far more important things to worry about. Like your 4x4 skids! Depending how big it is I might suggest going 6x6 since you are going overboard anyway. But more important, dig a tiny little bed/trench , and lay some gravel or sand in it and then put your skid on top of that. This way...

Question about shed floor with what was provided in kit

That osb is fine. It's going on deck blocks, it will last as long as your shed. Don't worry. Around here, the weyerhauser is good stuff, not sold at HD just supply houses. If you REALLY were worried, I would just suggest laying a roll of felt down on top of your floor joists to protect the osb...

    Another Lowe's Knipex Price Drop

For some reason I don't think they'd drop the Channellock channellocks tho. But yes most probably all their other handtools. And you say Klien, but to be honest, the Kleins we get at the supply houses are almost the same price but definitely the tips are different and the handles feel different...

Did I screw up the framing for my shed already?? Pics

No worries at all! You won't even be able to tell from the outside anyway once you cover with vinyl or what have you. Don't worry, once the osb is up you won't be able to see the gap, and if you are using a pneumatic nailer all the better, it will bend the osb a little and hide the imperfection...

Well you say static loads. But I believe Steevo said his intention was to be banging on it harder than what the toolboxes are designed for.
