    Fieldpiece SC53

Just got it used for free from a buddy, trying to figure out how it works. It won't switch out of AC mode, even if I turn the knob, and won't show the bottom display. Couldn't find any help online just the manual, no troubleshooting. Anyone ever use this model and have any advice/ideas? Thanks...

Fine, you all have given me the courage to try it. I'm too ashamed of making a scene or holding up the line.

Good man! You should know your priorities! After I typed this I realized it sounds sarcastic, but not meant that way. :-)

    Tool advice needed

Be the one smart tech that doesn't spend his future life savings on a Snap On box and tools. Gearwrench is a very well respected brand here, especially their ratcheting wrenches. I would suggest the HF box also, it is an EXCELLENT box FOR THE MONEY. You don't need anything fancier than that for...

    Coast hl5 headlamp / $7.98 / Home Depot

They REALLY REALLY dim after the first hr or so. So don;t think you'll ever get the lumens for the whole time, if even for the first ten minutes. I bought them a year ago, and the wiring now needs to be wiggled every once in a while so the light doesn't stay dim. I'm sure it's shorting it out...

    Home Cental AC died

Sounds about right. Have no clue what SWAG means, but good luck finding a company that will come purge, vacuum, and fill your system once you've installed it. If you do find one, they will probably charge you what you saved since you can't in any way really do that without the proper equipment...

Anyone know when Sears rubber water hoses go on sale? Or have other suggestions?

Personally, I think the rubber ones are wayy too heavy with the water in them. I have a couple of the Apex neverkink brand, and while they do kink once in a while, they are amazing quality and pretty lightweight compared to rubber. I recently had one of the fittings on mine go back it was where...

Northern Tool Sale- up to 80% off on tools

See that's the biggest problem I see. I don't understand why they just don't make the damn thing bigger so it can hold all the cord. I won't be able to hand feed the last part of the cord, where I want to hang it in the middle of my garage, but def need it to go higher so when I jump I can pull...

Northern Tool Sale- up to 80% off on tools

No it definitely isn't. The Arcan one I have is almost unable to be lifted by hand without breaking your back, and lifts higher. 23 something inches. I also wouldn't trust HF load capacity as well as the Arcan. You can however try taking a HF coupon to Northern and see if they will let you use...

    Would you rather......?

There's nothing better than starting from a blank slate. You might think demolition is fun, but once you do enough it starts being more of a hassle. Making sure dust doesn't get there, cutting everything carefully, not knowing what is behind that wall you plan to take down, making sure trim...

Which House & Garage to Buy?

Also, I just realized, forget about storing anything in your backyard in the front house since it will be seen no matter what. That canoe you have might have to go in your garage. I store a lot of stuff in my backyard, albeit neatly and organized. Just saying though that if someone can see...
