Apparently not good enough - was still about 2" crown, which meant either undoing everything and calling the excavator out again, or just adding 2" more concrete for a total of 6" slab (in places). *sigh* Structural Engineer coming out Monday for a professional opinion. Probably a good idea...

    Making the neighbors love me.

It's at the point of the big hole in the yard, where I went "oh, this was a very big mistake." It's more fun filling the hole back in with foundation. Well, work, anyway. The framing part is fun.

When the trusses arrive, I can do the lintel above the roll-up door (Because the lintel is part of that order). Then trusses go up (of course). I have all the sheathing and shingles waiting on the driveway. My hope is to have at least a roof by snowfall (usually late October here).

I will be doing a gas furnace on the ceiling. The foam is to keep my body heat from being sucked out my boots when working in there in the winter. We have the option of how to do the 3 days Pro-D. We can make up two of the days with our monthly Tech Ed LSA meetings, and I make up one of the...

I had no reply from the excavators regarding the crown of the ground. Started putting some walls up. Slab guy came to view the site, saw the "crown" and said (and I paraphrase...) "Damn." He phoned the excavators, and they came back the next day. Today I got a ton and a half of crush and...

Excavators packed up their machines to head to another job, leaving me with a 5" crown to the "floor". Worker was pleased with how it turned out. I'm not. Interesting to see how this pans out, but I am not impressed with that.

I did years ago when I started, but it was "trolled" by meathead, and I was so pissed off that I had admin lock it and I took a break for a while. When my shop is built, and my V8 Firefly is complete, I will get back at it.

Trench is filled with 6" sand, caution tape, and filled with dirt. All by hand. Foundation is now backfilled. Next is leveling, then the slab.

It's a Corolla 4AGE, with GSX-R ITB's, Ford EDIS, Honda injectors, and running Megasquirt. I have a Lotus/Caterham dimensionally-correct chassis near completion to correct all the visual "flaws" I don't like, but other things got in the way, so it's on hold for now. I remember seeing the...

Gas line test pressure leaked out, but is now fixed. Building inspector is on holidays. Safety Authority Inspector came by, so I'm filling the trench. I got 7 loads done today - 7600lbs of sand. Might be able to finish tomorrow. View out back from the top of the dirt pile: View of...

(Grin). I guess. I'm ~less~ pissed off when I make the mistakes than if a paid professional makes them. I'm just a two-bit hack with zero experience trying to keep costs down. Gas guy came today and ran the gas line. Waiting for the Safety Authority to OK the gas & electrical so I can fill...

Concrete day! Only 38°C too! Pump Pro arrives, along with OK Ready Mix. Working furiously to screed, key, and set rebar. Home stretch. 45 minutes and the job was done. As of this writing, I think I am physically dead.
