There's some gravel under there to build it up. Then I picked up this leveling sand made for pavers. that's 1" deep then put them ontop and adjusted until it was flat with the level.
I know this was also a concern by a few and I wasn't even happy that it wasn't fully 18" in all spots after I used the trencher either. BUT... They just inspected it and it passed. I'm good to go on electrical now. Now on to running the gas line for the furnace. I have to research codes on that...
I don't worry about things like that. it doesn't bother me who knows on here or that this is technically against code. I just get **** done and keep moving on. You don't get ahead not taking chances. cant be scared. I didn't get where I am today by being conservative.
I shipped it to my work. used our forklift and put it on my car trailer. cut it all open and carried one post at a time into my garage with a few guys.
The concrete floor was already poured for that area and we called it a "sidewalk" when it was inspected. We are cutting a 10ft wide door way in both walls and putting headers in. Just connecting the ends with walls and using a metal roof sloping front and back at a low pitch. It will be like a...
I bought the Atlas Pro 9D 2 post lift. 9,000lb. It is Chinese parts but assembled here I'm pretty sure. I ordered it from Greg smith equipment. Awesome guys over there. They have videos of the lift being tested way over capacity and even up to failure. They test every model they sell in house...
I was able to get a few loads of dirt this weekend and taper it away from the foundation finally. There were spots that showed 2 feet of concrete where I needed to build it up. Threw some grass seed down and hopefully in a few weeks this place looks finished lol. I wasn't sure what to do with...
Got the modified sway bar links on to fit the smaller drag wheels for the challenger. The lift made quick work of getting it up in the air. I don't know how I made it this many years without one lol. Car turned out good. Customer is hoping for 9 sec 1/4 mile times this next weekend.
They got the system bled and cables adjusted last night. The Escalade was sitting in the driveway so I just pulled her right on to test it for leaks. Lifts it up easily no issues. In this photo I have the garage door open. The door is just above 11 feet. At this height you can't walk under it at...
Got a 2016 Hellcat Challenger in Sunday. Car had some belt slip issues after the smaller pulley so I installed the additional idler on top to put more tension on the belt and a billet catch can hidden in the corner. Now that I have the small things done I'm held up on the rest of the car, just...
I got the outlet covers and breaker panel cover on and ready for inspection this next week. Greg smith equip recommended a kill switch wired inline on all 2 post lifts so we got that done also. Just used SO chord and put a plug on the end and plugged it into a locking outlet in the ceiling. The...
I still need to add some mulch and plants and fix the landscape stuff. It should fit in with the neighborhood once complete. The neighbors wont have a right to complain once I get this place cleaned up.
So I was up last night trying to figure out what I have in this so far and why I ran out of money already lol. Its adding up fast. Here's the breakdown.
Concrete work, framing, roof, siding, doors $25,000
Gravel driveway $2,100
Atlas 2...
Finished up the basic electrical tonight. I have ceiling lights, 1 outlet on the back wall, outside lights and the lift wired up with the 220. Its enough for inspection. I'll bury the conduit and save money and work on adding more outlets and things after it passes inspection. I've officially...
This has to be the stupidest way I've ever seen in my life. I don't have time to weave some complex chain of ****. I can put away my 25ft'r wrapping around my arm in 10 seconds and hang it on the hook in my garage and done. Don't re-invent the wheel. geez.
Mine is basically a 28 x 32 also. I experienced similar pricing. We chose to move the garage away from the house and put a sidewalk between them and then you don't need footers. bill dropped from $13,000 all the way down to $7,000. Its the footers that get you. if its not attached you don't need...
Atlas Pro-9D. Its the same as a 9KOH but it has the single point lock release and the over head shut off switch and it lifts around 5" higher. Atlas and the lift installers both told me as long as it straddles the joint and the bolt holes are a couple inches on either side you have zero worries...
