It took a little muscle too, but wasn't too bad.

I borrowed my brothers engine hoist to unload the posts and help get them upright. I did this by myself

As noted earlier in this thread, I was going back and forth on type of lift to go in my garage. I was debating the 4 post for storage vs the 2 post for service, vs the in ground scissor for minimum impact on useable space. I'm happy to say i came up with my solution and have a lift in and...

The parachute was just a temporary setup, not permanently rigged.

Thanks for the compliments. I am quite happy with how the shop is coming together. The "screen" is a military surplus parachute strung up over the back yard to give some shade while we were having a hot spell here in Seattle (upper 80's and lower 90's).

So, with the yard and exterior mostly dialed in, my efforts will turn back to the garage interior. I have been contemplating the question of the lift. My original plan was to use a four post, but it would simply take up too much space. I also want to be able to use the parking side of the...

Then I installed the twisty slide from my daughters play platform down to the yard. Picked the slide up used off Craigslist. It was a really tight fit to get it into place, but I was able to make it work. Here it is being test fit.

The next project was installing Densglas on the south wall of the garage for fire rating (it's only 12" from the property line), getting the Hardie panel siding over that, getting the entire garage painted, and installing the rest of the window and door trim. Unfortunately my phone died recently...

Here is a mostly completed wall with chalkboard in place. I spent some extra effort to stagger the slats a bit and mix up the colors to create a slightly random look instead of making it as regular as possible. Still need to finish up the cap.

Here is a mostly completed wall. Notice I left a blank panel in the middle of the wall for installation of a chalk board for my daughters use.

Next job was to face the ecology block retaining wall with something to make it look better. I chose to use 1"x2"x4' cedar slats. You can get ones that are essentially clear (no knots) from the local lumber yard here quite cheap. I installed pressure treated sleepers by lagging them directly to...

The turf meets my daughters approval. Here's also a shot showing the garage with siding painted, but prior to trimming out the windows.

When you first unroll it, the knap is all laying down. You want to get it to stand up before spreading the infill material. We used a vacuum.

Next up was installing the artificial turf. We used Pregra Fescue Elite, purchased through Costco, with the infill and other installation materials bought through Home Depot. Turf delivered.
