    Installing my 2 post lift

I have a Eagle 4 post model 7000XLT. The 4 post distributes the weight out more than a 2 post. If you move it outside I would call the lifts manufactures tech dept., and ask about footers that I think would be a good idea esp. if you plan on pouring new concrete anyways. I read somewhere that...

Detached Garage Flooring Project and Bar

The clear (2 coats) of epoxy. 8 mills thick each layer ot coat will help protect the tile while adding strength and gloss to the floor. If the epoxy did chip it would be easier than removing and reapplying another tile IMO. Epoxy is way harder than VCT alone by the tile itself. Appriciate...

Detached Garage Flooring Project and Bar

That is true from what I learned from Armstrong's tech dept. Idaho does get some months of below or slightly above freezing. My detached is well insulated but I bought 2 wall heaters off of Ebay for 115-145 dollars each. As long as the temp is above 55 degress in the garage it should be fine...

Clear epoxy over VCT or just polish?

I purchased a tile cutter from Home Depot. It was located next to the VCT tiles. I simply measured and cut. This is why you need to start from the center out IMO. I am going to re-paint the area of the wall that is blue just below the white walls. I am going to use the same color of paint...

Detached Garage Flooring Project and Bar

I like the look of both and thought why not? I contatced a guy that does epoxy floor coverings and asked his oppinion. He told me that he did it once for a customer and contacted him to see how it was holding up. He said that it has been fine for over a year now. What I learned is that I...

Detached Garage Flooring Project and Bar

I have always wanted to do a checker board floor in a garage. Moved here a year ago and have decided to go for it this time. I bought Armstrongs VCT tile flooring at Home Depot, along with the adheisive. First step was getting the floor cleaned up using a buffer that had a stiff pad to use with...

Clear epoxy over VCT or just polish?

I rented (from Home Depot) the 100 pound roller which you need to do after you lay down the tiles, right away, as to get out the air bubbles and get it flat. I am going to later scuff up the tiles using 100 grit pad while on a buffer so that the clear coat epoxy has something to bite at. Here...

Clear epoxy over VCT or just polish?

During this project I called Armstrong and spoke with the tech dept regarding concerns I have. What I learned is that they will warrenty their product if it is in a controled tempature enviroment at or above 55 degrees. Like most of you I live in 4 season country, and even though my detached...

Clear epoxy over VCT or just polish?

I am doing 1,500 sf of black and white checkerboard look with 2' sqaures or 4 x 1' same color and 4 x 1' other color using Arstrong's VCT tiles. I am goint to rough it up with 100 grit sand paper using a machine then lay 2 coats 8 mills each of clear epoxy. The rough surface from the sanding...

Anyone have a model # for the VCT flooring?

I decided the same thing. The cost was much more for the plain black and white. I went to the Depot and I got the Armstrong black and white w/ flakes in it on sale at 30% off standard price. Great sale. I also opened up a Home Depot credit card and got another 10% off!!!!! That's 40% off...

Newbie and just finished floor (pics)

The base board area, aka the stem walls, were done in the same manner. The sprinkels do not stick as well as on a flat surface, so you see more of the base color epoxy. I am pleased with the results.

Newbie and just finished floor (pics)

New to site and just finished garage floor: Decided to use a three part epoxy paint. I had the epoxy colored matched to the same color I used to paint the garage walls. The process is: 1) Etch your concrete with Muratic Acid and some water to open up the pours of the cement so that the...
