    How much impact for 108 ft-lbs ?

Hmm :headscrat If the OP is using anti-seize... and torquing to 108 ft-lbs, then he is over-torquing the lug nuts. If helping a guy to not damage something is de-railing.... please, by all means... derail away. The best way to torque lug nuts, is the old fashioned way... Forget the impact...

    T1-11 as small subfloor?

True T1-11: T1-11 plywood sheets are available in 48-by-96-inch or 48-by-120-inch sheets. Sheet thickness is either 3/8, 5/8 or 3/4 inch. https://www.hunker.com/13402009/t1-11-plywood-specifications But you bring up a good point. If the OP has the EZ-Panel stuff, which is more like OSB than...

    T1-11 as small subfloor?

T1-11 comes in various thicknesses. I used 3/8" in our shop.

Crawl Space Insulation - Foil Sheets on Joists

I second Combat Ninja's comments. We live in a vary arid climate where it is typically cool. There are cactus growing in the yard and no air conditioning is needed. Yet our county enforces the same set of IBC rules that apply to the most humid / wettest / hottest parts of the country. As...

    Concrete Prep

I used this on my barn Dan, worked really well. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Sikaflex-10-1-oz-Self-Leveling-Concrete-Sealant-Gray-7116070/300934515 Keep in mind though if the tube of sealant is warm it'll come out pretty runny. (I sat the tube in the sunshine for about a half hour). And...

Mounting light to pole barn siding

I was thinking about this thread when replacing the cheapo jelly jar light on my barn last week. I used a piece of composite decking to make a backing plate for the light.

    Pole Barn Post Method?

Back filling the post hole with gravel is absolutely the worst thing you can do. You've just created voids that will fill with water every time it rains.

    Pole Barn Post Method?

Re: Pole Barn Pole Method Installation Method? The native soil you take out when you dig the hole... put that back in when you back fill around the post. It really is that simple. What you don't want is to make a well for water to sit in every time it rains. Dissimilar fill materials will...

Tricks/Tips fr driving onto 4 post lift?

This would work... I use it with my 2 -post lift to ensure the vehicle is centered. It's just a cheap mirror from Walmart like you would hang on the back of a door. I mounted this one to an old satellite dish mount I had, so it's adjustable.

Another 2 post lift and concrete question.

I added some drawings and data above. The lift is a Rotary 10K Asymetric that I purchase new in 2007. Great lift.. American made in Madison Indiana.

Another 2 post lift and concrete question.

Ideally, you want the bottom of the slab as flat as the top. This minimizes stress concentrations and helps to prevent cracking. For a retrofit, where you are trying keep a slab and modify it to work with a 2 post lift, then cutting, removing an area and making it thicker is about the only...

Long distance shop move. Sell and repurchase or move it all

We moved from Ohio to Colorado in 2005. My advice: Take it all. I regret pretty much everything I left behind... even my old 3 speed bicycle I had as a kid. I can't tell you how many times I've said "I used to have just what I needed".

2x4 or 2x6 for joists in shed floor?

Depends where your located. Where we live galvanize would last a long time.. we have cactus growing in our yard. The OP is in Minnesota... buried galvanized steel won't last very long there.

2x4 or 2x6 for joists in shed floor?

The key to keeping critters from burrowing under a building is to place stainless hardware cloth around the building. The critters burrow down, hit the wire mesh and gets stopped in their tracks. Before doing the finished grading around the building lay the cloth down and fasten it to the...

2x4 or 2x6 for joists in shed floor?

I agree with Bolson... use 2x8's. That'll provide a really strong floor that will support the items parked in the building, as well as aid in the rigidity of the wall.

Attaching/tightening a nut to a bolt without a wrench on the back side?

Also known as stick nuts. Those were supplied on some parts I bought for our 2019 Ranger... worked great.

Might be difficult to get the vapor barrier plastic to sit nice and flush around the posts. And you don't want it laying in the concrete and being a hassle for the guys finishing the concrete. I'd do the splash barrier all on it's own. Are you putting in any reinforcing steel / mesh?
