    Above 1200 Sq/FT Hilltop Speed Shop 40x80x14

Well this has been a really long time coming. I had to make a career change, move to a rural area, buy some land, build a house, put a pool in for the fam...save some $...to build the happy place I've always wanted. So in May I started on my 40x80x14 shop next to my house in SW Missouri...

Commercial Sherwin Williams epoxy, tires leaving stains?

Man don't beat yourself up too bad. I own a working shop, we have had somewhere north of 80,000 cars in and out of our bays. The floor is cream colored epoxy with non-slip and it has held up extremely well. UNTIL I parked my silverado on it with new BFG K02's over the weekend. It was six...

    Parts cleaners

We use a Smartwasher by CRC in my shop, it uses "Ozzyjuice" which works well but is not flammable etc. 6 techs, daily use and it works great no complaints.

Best concrete floor coating that would resist sparks and weld spatter

I weld on my Hellfire and unless you drop slag right above the surface it does fine. I put a large metal drip tray on the floor, small stuff and higher off the floor isn't an issue. It's not a great looking coating by itself to be clear though.

Ridiculous or not insulated garage doors. Need advice.

$1500 is what it cost me to upgrade my pair of 16' doors to r13, black custom panels and custom windows and they were only 6 weeks out. I spent maybe another $500 on the jackshaft openers with the nice controls and my builder or his garage guy never batted an eye, just went off a couple of...

Modifications to the HF 4 and 5 drawer service carts - what changes have you made?

I just purchased my third 5 drawer cart over the last 5 or 6 years. I have to say the quality is great, seems like they're even heavier gauge? in some places. Very pleased with this workhorse!

    Transmission fluid on driveway

After a $1mil plus study, McDonald's determined that the best method to lift oil out of their drive thru is mineral spirits and terrycloth. I have done this with success. Using a diaper or thick terrycloth towel with mineral spirits "lifts" the oil out. If there is anything left buy...

hearing protection; unwanted advice for the younger set...

I am very pleased with these for mowing: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0723CYHPZ/?tag=atomicindus08-20 Since we're talking about PPE - one of my techs lost an eye in my shop, on my watch, on my payroll last fall and let me tell you the worst part for him behind the physical disability is...

    Tools You Don't Remember Buying!!!

I was cruising FB marketplace the other day and saw a nice older craftsman grinder on a very sturdy base. I zipped on over and grabbed it then took it to my storage unit. I have been collecting shop equipment for a shop build. I took it to the back of the unit and there was another grinder on...

Leevon's Missouri 4-car attached new construction

At first it was kind of a joke because between us, wife's parents and her sister and my brother in law we all have had red cars for years, mostly GM's too. Now it seems like it has become such a "thing" that Mrs. Leevon never says "no" as long as it's red so here we are! Thanks! Progress...

Legacy Industrial Hellfire Concrete Coating install/observations

Here's what the floor looks like after a couple of weeks of use. It's not shiny like the final coat photos, but silver like chrome spray paint. There is some splotchiness in a few spots which doesn't bother me. The ultra-fine soft skid definitely darkened? or at least flattened the final coat...

Leevon's Missouri 4-car attached new construction

Thanks fellas. Phase 1 is done after we got some base trim on and started moving in. Phase 2 will be lifts, compressor, cabinets, etc.

Legacy Industrial Hellfire Concrete Coating install/observations

Thanks all! Three days later and it's a working floor again with no worries. Parked a filthy zero turn on it, construction traffic, etc.

Legacy Industrial Hellfire Concrete Coating install/observations

I'm pleased with Hellfire. For anyone wanting a low to mid-range budget floor coating that will take all the abuse you can give it, this seems to fit the bill. I will report back after some use!

Legacy Industrial Hellfire Concrete Coating install/observations

I had my finishers avoid "burning in" the floor. They left more texture (trowel marks) than I would have preferred but it made for a surface with good bite. I really just etched it for insurance and Hellfire probably would have applied fine without as water quickly absorbed into the surface...

Legacy Industrial Hellfire Concrete Coating install/observations

Hello, I wanted to share my experience with Legacy Industrial's Hellfire Concrete Coating. I was not asked to share this nor did I receive anything for it. I have just been browsing the flooring forum long enough to know that information in every thread and post is helpful when you're looking...

Leevon's Missouri 4-car attached new construction

Getting ready to lay down some Hellfire. We did an initial cleaning, which was mostly wire brushing drywall mud off the foundation walls by hand (ugh). Waiting for a clear slab so we can acid etch and dry before coating. Won't be long.

    SW Armorseal Tread Plex review

I think this might be helpful information for anyone looking to do something similar. I have a new construction basement area that is approx 900 sf and consists of a future game room, storage, and vault/storm room. Initially wanted to go all-out on this floor and looked at endless products and...
