That feeling you get when all of your romex is combed

It's mostly a network / less than 56 volts thing. Makes cables nice and pretty. I'm not even going to mention cable lacing. :eyecrazy:

That feeling you get when all of your romex is combed

Nice. Well then, My *low-voltage* panels are complete. If I have one complaint, the installer did not use the siemens dedicated wireguide features of the "main" 40 space panel. Otherwise, I'm happy. I used "main" in quotes, as my main disco is outside, and the 40 space panel not the bonding...

That feeling you get when all of your romex is combed

The "#8 romex" was not #8 but #10, including a #10 ground. I was wrong because I assumed I knew the jacket color. That's the one you're referring?

That feeling you get when all of your romex is combed

low and high voltage are nearly complete, ready for rough inspections I'm still really happy with their work. I've gotten everything I've asked for, and the cleanliness of the install is the icing on the cake. :rocker:

That feeling you get when all of your romex is combed

I'll post a few pics of the sparky's panel work. They were about 1/2 way through the kitchen panel when i looked in, and I was pretty happy with the cleanliness in there. Here is a question to the pros here, when wiring single phase panels, do you put the red conductor on the left or right...

That feeling you get when all of your romex is combed

I was wrong.... apparently #10 romex is orange now... I always thought it was black?

That feeling you get when all of your romex is combed

LOL, no, the panel is in the wall behind the fridge, but access is in the garage. AHJ is fine with a main-lug kitchen sub panel as long as the main is also in the garage, which it is.

That feeling you get when all of your romex is combed

No long runs, the kitchen sub is mounted behind the fridge to keep those circuits from home-running back to the main. Saves ~25 feet per run. The dryer and oven are probably 20 feet of 8awg... But again, I'm not complaining. Seriously though, I had this job bid with my expectations, and one...

Not sure, but I'm not complaining either. I have 12awg everywhere, so I guess they assumed I like over kill?

That feeling you get when all of your romex is combed

Sorry for the brag post, but I have been super happy with the work my electricians have been doing on the new place and wanted to share. Sorry about the potato quality photos, but it was evening when I went to go look. 100A sub panel for the kitchen / laundry. (they even ran 8awg for my 30A...

    110v out of a 220 nema 14-30

I picked up a few AP7832 and plan on doing this on my work benches. For my general contractor, I deployed a few distribution boards from a permanently installed 14-50 outlet. 50A -> 2x L14-30 outlets L14-30 -> 4x 20A circuits with 4x nema 5-20 each It's ugly, but provides my guys plenty...

NEMA 6-50 plug and electric car

I don't have an electric car, but installed a 14-50R for when my friends visit. Currently, with the house under construction, I have a distribution board connected to that 14-50 outlet for my contractors.

    Security Lights

Most of my neighbors are on the security light kick right now. None of which aims or adjusts their lights / sensors worth a damn. One has a bright (always on) flood light pointed in to the intersection on his corner lot, and all of the others have lights that come on when people drive down the...

    Garage subpanel size

Honestly, you will want to shop for spaces / capacity versus amperage. I have 200A service in the new house feeding a 40/80 space panel. The Kitchen and Laundry is getting a 125A 16/32 space panel and will be fed via a 100A breaker. Once the builders are done, I will be adding another...

Honda EU3000is to main breaker panel

Code legal MWBCs would look like a double pole breaker with the handles tied together. It really depends on the builder and who wired the house. You might find MWBCs in the garage or in the kitchen in a residence. About the 5-30 / 14-30 connections, IIRC those don't light up both hots of the...

Honda EU3000is to main breaker panel

With interlock, I wouldn't think there is an issue using one leg to power both panel legs as long as the 240V devices are off. I have see this question posted before and generally as long as you are diligent in removing 240V devices from the equation, you should be good. I'd do it in an...

Melted large (blue) wire nut: No breaker trip

And there was the problem, the push in type. as far as appliance placement... they are all counter top models, and weren't planned around on the branch circuits. In retrospect, I would like to have seen a 12/3 being used with every outlet alternating on the phases... (mwbc with tied breaker)
