My new place! The Mopar Mill!

I am trying to get the shop finished for this year by the time the snow is gone. I just picked up the Crapmaro (that is what we have been calling it since its a rusty one) for $300 (plus renting a trailer and gas) and was going to build a nasty azz cheap drag car. I was going to back half it...

My new place! The Mopar Mill!

I haven't been on that much as I have been busy with work, but I started to setup my ford-Smith hoist. I was worried about the concrete in the shop not being thick enough, but after carefully getting the hoist columns where they needed to be, I found that there is at least 8" of concrete...

Did you have to climb over a quarter mile all the way up?

Neglected century barn is becoming my workshop and garage

Thanks for the beam! I measured it up and its going to be perfect for what I am doing. I didn't realize that you were so close to me (I was home in 20 minutes). I have been out to Techie's place and its actually nicer in person, as is his work. One day I will get my shop in shape like that.

My new place! The Mopar Mill!

I think i have a good harness. If I recall correctly it was one broken fuse holder, but the rest is nice. I have all the stock stuff from the older bike, including a really nice seat if needed. Fenders, taillights, shocks, bars, etc. Have all that stuff.

My new place! The Mopar Mill!

Cool. Need any parts? I have the parts bike that I will be slowly liquidating when I have time. Time seems to be me biggest problem. And money. Time and money are my biggest problems...lol

My new place! The Mopar Mill!

Late, but as promsed - pics! The stomp shear and my small sheetmetal brake. Another pic around the sheetmetal bench. I made it a full 4x8' so I can just put the sheets and sheetmetal right on top of it. It also has ended up as a temp parts storage for the bikes. I still need to get a...

My new place! The Mopar Mill!

The Cunifer orCupranil brake lines (both are the copper/nickel ones) are great! When I am having to bend lines its what I use. They seem to have good corrosion reisitance also. We are using them on my friends plow trucks and they seem to last. I got the stainless for my truck because the kit...

My new place! The Mopar Mill!

Yeah, I know. still no pics. I will try to get some tonight. I did fix the one blown brake line on the truck for now since I need it to get to work, and ordered a kit in stainless for the rest of the lines since one or two others don't look great. I need to make it to Brofasco and pick up...

Neglected century barn is becoming my workshop and garage

I just spent the last couple days reading this entire thread - great job! I was at the Uxbridge TSC a few days ago and they had at least one quart can of the blue you are looking for. I remember looking at it but ended up buying Dark blue to cover the floor braces for the car hoist I am going...

My new place! The Mopar Mill!

I might go an take pics tomorrow. One thing that I do not like about where I am is that the internet connectivity is horrible, but I have requested an upgrade to their faster service. I am not good at taking pics when i am working on stuff. And my truck just blew a brake line and is in the...

Your pump is the VT232605. You should be able to find the parts you need here: http://www.mastertoolrepair.com/air-compressor-pump-parts-vt232605-p-32875.html

    Wiring a compressor

I just did a similar compressor - 3.8hp motor on it, on a pretty long run of about 80 feet from the panel. I used 10/2 AC90 to a disconnect box, then used the cording that came with the compressor from the box to the compressor. The compressor cord is a very flexible stranded copper and the...

My new place! The Mopar Mill!

Is it the 6004 pump? They used that pump on everything up to 5hp - single piston, cast iron cylinder, aluminum head and crankcase. You can get most service parts for CH compressors through Sears still. I got the rebuild kit for mine through them by using their online parts lookup. You will...

My new place! The Mopar Mill!

I haven't been around much due to work, and working on the Mill. I ended up re-siding one wall, replacing an exterior door, removing a bunch of rotten OSB under some other siding and replacing that, doing even more flashing, and more insulating of the main floor. I am almost ready to have the...

My new place! The Mopar Mill!

I need to get pics. But I have been too busy getting the place buttoned up for winter. I am down to just putting some siding on, and finishing up some insulation. Then lots of pictures! I also have to go and get the Jeeps from my friends place and bring them back.

My new place! The Mopar Mill!

I haven't been posting much since I am trying like mad to get the Mill ready for winter. Nothing has been done in the shop except fixing a friends car - all four struts needed replacing. It would have been soooo much easier if I had the hoist and air compressor setup, but that will wait until...

    120 Volt Mig Welder recommendations

I have a Lincoln Wed Pak 10 that I bought when I was 16 years old. I still use it all the time and it is a great machine. I have used it for everything from structural welding on cars to light body work. Just remember to prep properly, and practice.

Legality of living in a "garage"

I love the doors to nowhere, but you have a separate little apartment up there. I think the OP really wanted to have the car and living space as one space. Fire inspectors have a lot of say where I am and can really ruin your day. My local one said no way would a car be allowed in a living...

Legality of living in a "garage"

I live in a converted feed mill. I recently had to have a full fire inspection and can tell you that having your car in your living room will basically never be allowed. Here were the requirements where I live: My property is multizoned for light industrial, commercial, and residential. It...
