New CRAFTSMAN manufacturing plant being built in USA

I also hope they drop the new Craftsman logo that's on the newest Sears stuff.....

New CRAFTSMAN manufacturing plant being built in USA

I have a feeling they will look completely different, or they would be competing directly with Sears's Craftsman or their own tool line.

    Armstrong Tool Collection...Are you Selling??

Was thinking of selling my standard ratchet set (1/4, 3/8, 1/2). I know that they are high quality, but finding since they aren't QR, that they sit unused in the tool box.... thought maybe they would be worth a decent amount since they are no more...

    Craftsman bashing

Personally I think most people's expectations are that they expect Snap On quality, but since its Craftsman, they are only willing to pay HF prices....

    Craftsman bashing

My point is if anybody did any price checking would know that $10 for a socket set is pretty cheap (Lowes, HomeDepot, Menards, etc) I don't disagree that the "expectation" was that it's a high quality tool, I disagree that at $10 they think they are paying a premium....

    Craftsman bashing

I personally think Craftsman ruined themselves with trying to continue their low pricing that they have had for years. When they came out with the Professional line, it didn't sell. I'm sure it was due to "I'm not paying that much for a Craftsman (fill tool in the blank)" The Craftsman full...

    Craftsman bashing

$10 for a socket set including a ratchet isn't exactly premium pricing...:lol_hitti As stated many times in this thread, Craftsman is pretty much the lowest price for tools... especially the tool sets.

I don't understand why they don't stamp "USA"

My original point was that for 1 penny it's a no brainer as a selling feature to stamp it USA. Imagine what would happen if Snapon no longer stamped USA on their tools. I would think the loss in sales would be much more that the cost of the stamp. If I were in a store and saw two sets of...

I don't understand why they don't stamp "USA"

The bits just came in little plastic zip lock bags. No COO on anything.

I don't understand why they don't stamp "USA"

The Snapon bit and Bosh bit I have are both stamped.... The main reason I want to see the markings is the on going issue of manufactures moving production overseas. You can't assume anymore that a past USA manufacture still makes their products here. The Bosh bit is a good example... they are...

I don't understand why they don't stamp "USA"

Just received some Apex bits. Even though I believe they are Made in USA, they aren't stamped. I had a Wright hex socket set that wasn't stamped either.... It just surprises me why some US companies don't label their products. The competition with cheap imports I would think is hard enough, I...

    SK 3/8 90T v Snap On F80

How does the SK compare with the Armstrong 88? Looks similiar, just curious..... I have the Armstrong and the Snap On Dual 80, The Armstrong had less back drag, but the Dual 80 just felt stronger...

    2017 Epstein's Day?

They get backed up during HJE week, so it's very common that it takes a little while for them to ship everything. Even if they have it in stock.

    2017 Epstein's Day?

Look at the 1/4 drive 15mm deep SK sockets for example.... Last year on HJE day I bought Wright ratchets and the 1/2 drive went negative. I was watching the 90'tooth SK ratchets last week and after the first day it went like -15, but after two days they must of gotten a shipment in and the...

    2017 Epstein's Day?

If the quantity is 0 then all current orders are filled. If they were back ordered you would see a negative number. So you should be good....

Is there any reason not to get ACR hex bits?

Here is some info from the phillips website. The ribs on the bit are supposed to match ribs in the screw. http://www.phillips-screw.com/acr_phillips.php Thats why I was wondering if getting the ACR bit really helped or not on a standard phillips screw since I've never seen an ACR screw...

Is there any reason not to get ACR hex bits?

I know the ACR bit was designed for an ACR screw. (Which I've never seen) Not sure if it actually does anything better (or worse) on a normal screw.... But seems like most purchase the ACR now...

Is there any reason not to get ACR hex bits?

Looking at getting some replacement phillips screwdriver bits for my ratcheting screwdriver. (would also use with my dewalt on occasion) Is there any reason to get the non-acr bits?
