Disposable Nitrile Gloves - What's the "Sweet Spot" in thickness?

Nothing to add except this tongue-in-cheek piece I wrote concerning gloves and C5 Corvette owners. "What's the best brand of disposable gloves to wear while pumping gas in my C5," asks a poster to the forum.....and here we go..... One reply claims the 5mil latex-free give a better feel for...

Table Saw Arbor Wrenches - Craftsman 10" 137.2488880

My Craftsman came without one, too. I cut a 'u' shaped notch out of a piece of 1/8" flat stock. Mine is 7/8". Took all of about 10 minutes.

What are your tool truck dealers like?

I had an independent (formerly Cornwell) dealer that was in the midst of a nasty divorce. Every Monday he'd come in and always started off with "Guess what the dumb ***** did now?"....then he's lauch into a harangue about the details. After about 10 or so minutes of this his tone of voice would...

New house, would like scissor lift advice.

I had the same one as TylerRNEMT above. It gave me years of trouble-free service and I sold it when I moved. There are two problems with these is; you'll have to recess it into the floor if you don't want to use ramps and doing any kind of transmission work on a RWD car is out of the question. I...

When a question like this one is asked I often wonder what the motive for asking is.

Who Has Carbon Monoxide Detectors in Garages?

I used to have one in my shop but every time I lit my race car off I lit the detector off, too. It's no longer in the shop.

    Maxjax Installs: Post Here

How much is there that needs to be said or asked about these lifts? There's basically only floor mounting, hydraulics, modifications and repair questions to be discussed. These topics are well covered on this forum. That being said, I'd join a FB group anyway.

Anyone know generators? Generac 15k flashing overspeed light.

I ran an auto electric business for 40 years. Every now and then I'd have a customer come in with the part I had just sold him and tell me that he had installed it, found out it wasn't the problem, and want his money back. I would tell him that I wasn't in business to provide him with test...

    Unseating roller bearings

Those are 203 bearings that can be commonly found in any starter-alternator rebuilding shop. I prefer the sealed (rubber seal) version over the shielded (what you have now).

If no tool company offered a warranty of any kind, which tool brands would you buy into?

Over the years I've discovered that the tools I own that are under warranty are usually warranted against everything except what's happened to mine. I rarely break any tools and I'm not at all concerned with warranty.

    What is your Pet Peeve?

Another one.....people who advertise items online and leave out the most pertinent information, like listing a trailer and not giving the length/width or advertising outdoor a/c units and not giving the tonnage.

    What is your Pet Peeve?

You left out the part about the 'chain drive' wallet thing. I equate having one of those to when my mother used to clip my mittens to my sleeves so I wouldn't lose them. I rode cross-country on a bike years ago and never lost my wallet.

    Spray wash cabinet

I had one of these years ago as a demo. The machine did an incredible job for me but it gave off an unbearable amount of heat as well as making the dial on the electric meter go around really fast. I didn't buy it.
