    question about beams

Looks like they were installed during the build to keep the walls square to each other. With the roof on and the sheeting on the roof rafters I would not hesitate to cut the diagonals out of there.

My vote is for white steel panels. Many reasons. Weight, no finishing, can order any length. Highly reflective.

    Framing/ stud question

There is a faster way to trim them then using a miter saw. Lay 20 of them or so onto your garage floor with the one end laying on top of a perpendicular 2x4 several inches back from the ends of the 2 x 4‘s you’re cutting. Snap a string line at your desired length across all 20 studs. Then using...

1 1/2" Sq Tube Lumber Rack - Wall Mount Options

If you set on metal then disregard this. But what I did was fasten 4x4s to your studs. Sitting rt beside them. I then used 3/4” black iron pipe for my horizontals. I marked my 4x4s at the height I wanted my horizontals and drilled 3/4” holes with a spade bit. This makes your horizontals...

Caulking seams on Sterling three piece shower surround

Agree on the silicone. It seems that latex is just not as good with constant water contact.

New Dead Bolt is very tight sliding into jamb

Tuff to move the plate just a small amount unless you glue and plug the old screw holes. I have fixed a ton of doors like yours by using my dremel grinder with a grinding wheel. Just grind open the hole a bit.

    Buckled Door Help

You’re dealing with the cheapest of all garage door. Without insulation and inside steel you have just some thin steel there. Instead of using oversized tappers I would use short #12 or possibly 1/4” x 20 through bolts. Best this would be for a car to back through that door and get a nice...

    Staircase door question

My set up looks very close to yours. I made a trap door that covers the opening at the top. Probably 4’ wide, 11 or 12’ long. It is heavy but made a nice counter weight to balance the door to where it doesn’t require much effort to lift it. Then last year I got a 120v hoist from harbor freight...
