A friend of mine works on cars as a hobby and he claims he only uses his 3/8 set and a breaker bar when he needs to free some large bolts. Can you do alot with a 3/8 only setup? I am building my tools up... and don't have the money for things i don't need. What do ya think?

I got a used F396 ratchet today, and took it apart to clean and lube it. Now i can't figure out where the ball bearing goes... i sorta fell out and i didn't get a chance to see where it came out from. Anyone have a link to a video or a diagram on how to assemble it?

I'm ready to pull the trigger on buying a 1/2 ratchet and i'm down to 3 choices. 1- Snap-on 2- SK 3- Facom The SK is the cheapest, but i don't know anything about them. I know the Snap-on is good. The Facom just looks amazing, and people have said great things about them. What to do?

How many teeth do the SK round head ratchets have? I was thinking abouit buying a set of them... 1/2 and 1/4 and would like some opinions on them. I ahve Proto pear head ratchets now, and they are ok but have a real rough action to them.

Are C-man pro wrenches as good as Snap-on wrenches... or should i just save up for the Snap-on ones? I want something that will last a long time, but the Snap-on ones seem like alot of money.

Anyone buy one of the Stack on 19" pro plastic tool boxes? For about 25 dollars it looks like a solid box for work. I don't know how to do a link to it... but they are plastic with metal hinges and 2 metal latches.

How are Facoms ratchets and pliers? I've seen alot of good deals on the tools and would like some opinions on them... i'm just a weekend mechanic not a pro. I like buying tools that will last a lifetime, but Snap on is just crazy!

On the Snap-on 1/4 ratchet... is the handle 4-7/8 long, or is the overall length that small? Sorry this is a dumb question, but i would like to get one and i'm stuck between the standard handle and the longer 6-1/2 inch one.

I have a chance to buy a 3/8 and 1/2inch socket set that are proto... for less than 100 dollars. What are your opinions of proto ratchets and sockets? I'm just starting out building a tool set for weekend tinkering... but i would like to start out buying really good tools. Any opinions would...
