    Woodworking 101--Tools and Tips

One of the many uses was for the set up and preparation and cutting of door hinges and planning the door to finish width for the jamb. When mounted on a 2x6 topped saw horse the vice provided a steady rest for the work. Usually the carpenter would install a set of ell shaped hardwood inserts...

Modifications to the HF 4 and 5 drawer service carts - what changes have you made?

I have my 4 drawer set up with all my air tools, grinding wheels and pads, and my cobra torch. The bottom shelf has my plasma cutter and two plastic Craftsman tool boxes for my 4-1/2" grinding/cutting disks and pads. I have a rubber pad on the top that I use as a work space for light projects.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Fired the mow and blow yard guy, pulled out all the much unused gardening tools and began the clean and sharpening job ( in the garage). Grass is going away and low maintenance landscaping is planned. Garage time will be limited for the next couple of weeks.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Love the color. That is about the same color as I use on all my reconditioned parts drawers, cabinets and carts.

Don, once again my Phoenix travels prevented us from stopping by the Gas Bash. I hope all went well and can just imagine the pictures you can post with all the goodies. We hope you and Ann were able to take some time off and relax before you get back in the shop.

I assure you that you win discover that you become so busy in retirement that you wonder how you had time to work at your old job. 2. The honey-do list grows longer daily. 3...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Learning to saddle stitch heavy leather for a metal forming bag. Tried to have a shoe repair place do the work but they said no go. Seems the lead shot bag I picked up on CL is not something they are willing to deal with. I have about 30 feet of older chrome trim to recondition, so hand...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

We had an invite to pre-view an estate sale one of our club members was having. His FIL was a jack of all trades retiree. I found a case of MAPP gas and 3 separate torch heads in the shop that they couldn't figure out how to dispose of ... so I grabbed it along with a bunch of misc tools. It is...

    Lets see your workbench

This is the sign of a sick tool depraved mind. Happily it is usually only a temporary issue. My kids would see that and deliberately put something on it to mess with pops!

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Absolutely nothing! I was invited to go 4 wheeling in the Sierras east of Sacramento for the day. Great trip, most of the area is free of other traffic so the trails were pristine snow pack.

After 52 years of marriage we have developed a sense of humor about the things that never got done. I remind her of a drawer filled with fabric that still has not made it into a project. There is still one piece of material in the sewing room that she hangs onto just cuz!

    MP&C Shop Projects

I'm glad to see someone else still uses the beat up used and abused B&D Workmate. I have one of the original models and still use it when I'm in the storage shop.

Above 1200 Sq/FT building my BIG PARTY garage

Had a house in the early 70's with swinging doors a PO installed. They were hung with the high point to the middle. My bride hated them because she is not tall enough to see over the top of the door. We've been gone from that house for 40 years and changing the doors must still on the honey do...
