there are many commercially available plastic bin cups that fit perfectly inside card file drawers. I use them for electronic components. Check out akro-mils 30102 they can be had for about 0.75/ea and are much nicer than cut up yogurt containers or whatever.
There's also these guys for drawer...
you can only have one neutral / ground bond. 99% of the time in this situation you need to remove the N-G bond on the generator, since you have the N-G bond on the house.
how big of a generator are you planning to install? Why do you not want a smaller ATS supplying a panel with the loads that need power during an outage?
i havent read the entire thread, but here are a couple thoughts. If you have an ATS code now requires the generator be sized to power the connected load. So no more whole house ATS with a 6kw generator behind it. So if you want an ATS with auto start generator, put the critical load circuits in...
Apex Tool Group is now in the hands of a private equity company. When you look at their earnings vs profit there is alot of room for improvement. I think this will be the end of made in usa on any of those products. ugh.
ugh. if its an automotive socket, the shell is 'ground' and is common to whatever the socket is mounted to. wiring 120v ac like this is very dangerous.
the 3ph is likely delta with no 120v.
I would maintain it if you think you might want it later. What would the cost be to turn it on and back off to reset the clock on the time its off? I could see them refusing to reconnect you 2 years from now...
says who? you could put 800A worth of breakers in that panel with a 150a main. what matters is the connected load, and to determine that you need to do a load calc.
i just installed a BR panel. Its a piece of ****, but does the job and once installed its functioning perfectly. The construction is flimsy, both the sheet metal and the plastic. I do like being able to get the breakers for <4.00 a pole.....
its time for a new cordless drill. looking at 18v lithium drill + impact driver combos. Considering both Milwaukee and Bosch, and am leaning toward Bosch. Any reason to choose one over the other?
