    Basement Floor Product & Prep?

Hmm... good to know! The 100% solids kit I used last summer in the garage certainly didn't have any odor which was nice. It did have a mild scent, but nothing like paint even.

    Basement Floor Product & Prep?

Perhaps I used the wrong word - comfort. By that, I would be glad not to walk on a dusty cement floor in the basement. I have no concerns of noise & did not mention that, nor would I want to install something that requires removal - an epoxy/paint will do fine. I will put in the required time...

    Basement Floor Product & Prep?

I put down a 100% solids resin epoxy (Epoxy Master) on my garage floor last summer & love it. (http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=111997) This summer I am looking to put a coating down on my basement floor - as I will not be finishing the basement immediately. My expectations...

    Mounting Wall Cabinetry Questions

Wall cabinets are now underway! Thanks again for all your help guys! - I used the supplied lag-bolts in the studs to support a slotted steel angle @ the base of the cabinets as suggested by a few members here. Worked great for levelling, & I will leave in place for support afterwards. What...

    Mounting Wall Cabinetry Questions

Managed to find a photo (terrible quality mind you) of the garage "pre-drywall" during the build and it is indeed covered in plywood behind the drywall. Good sanity check.

    Mounting Wall Cabinetry Questions

Thanks DDAWG16 - that is a good suggestion. I could leave these in after mounting & things would not look all that out of place either. I may go this route to get things moving...

    Mounting Wall Cabinetry Questions

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I suppose it is also worth mentioning, now that Octarine mentioned 'plywood' - that this wall is shared with the interior of the house - so by code, there would be OSB/plywood behind this drywall. It is quite solid & this might explain some of the weird'ish...

    Mounting Wall Cabinetry Questions

I considered joining the neighbor cabinets - I'll have to drill these holes myself & get some hardware to do this. Easier with wood cabinets, but this is only 24 gauge steel, so it should still be easy to drill through I'd imagine. The cabinets, will definitely only align so they mount to a...

    Mounting Wall Cabinetry Questions

I would like to install some metal wall cabinets (four sets in total) lengthwise across the back wall in the garage, however - I have some questions due to inexperience :o I am curious about the proper way to mount them. Their instructions are of course, straight-forward in telling you to...

No problem! You should look @ selling these on "ETSY". http://www.etsy.com/ It seems to be the type of product (recycled/re-used/re-purposed) that the website caters to.

    Resin Epoxy on Wooden Staircase?

Thanks! I am only epoxy'ing the flat stairs... no vertical surfaces. The toe-kick areas & other vertical surfaces will be primed & painted a different color entirely. I think I may do a test section with the epoxy I have left and see how it sticks.

    Resin Epoxy on Wooden Staircase?

I would like to use some 100% solids resin epoxy I have to do the stairs (not vertical areas though). EpoxyMaster said they cannot reccommend any base coat for their product except their own epoxy basecoat itself. I noticed this comment on another product...

CUSTOM! license plate GARAGE ART! you design!

Very cool idea. I am interested, though located in Calgary - Canada. To save on weight for the interest of shipping costs, would it be possible to have one made without the barn wood? I could then mount to some spare wood I have here instead?

    single coat

As an example, for a FULL broadcast to rejection, you can see how some fresh oil will soak into the paint chips without a top coat on the left, versus that of the right side that has a clear top coat: This was taken from: http://www.originalcolorchips.com/frequently_asked.html Here is their...

    single coat

Yes. I used EpoxyMaster's product, and it is a single coat. They do sell a top coat separately, though seem to tout that their single coat is 'good enough' for the majority of situations. The only scenario where I'd say you need a top coat with this is if you garage facing the sun most of...

    Help with epoxy

What kind of flake coverage do you intend to do? Doing a FULL coverage I think you can get away with more of a chicken feed style application for the sake of speed like the guys in this video: However, if you watch them, they do drop big dense clumps each time they begin throwing. Not a...

    Help with epoxy

Darker epoxy like dark paint on a car (dark blue, black, etc) will show lots of dust if dust is a problem, and I would imagine less light reflectivity, despite your white walls & ceiling. I'd go with a light(er) color like gray personally. Some light tan colors on the board here have looked...

    Epxoy bubble fix?

I would agree! Rarely saw bugs in my garage until the epoxy was down. 3 daddy-long-legs succumbed to the trap. Had the door open the other night inspecting the floor & a nasty beetle of some sort scurried into the garage. I swept him out onto the road. A cool day today, and I walk up to the...
