2-post lifts for crewcab longbed diesel pick-ups

I have a long bed Dodge crew cab and it is amazing how similar in weight it is to yours. My truck has 4520# on the front and 2980# on the back for an even 7500# total. This is a bone stock 2006 Dodge 2500 with a full tank of fuel and no extra stuff except a gooseneck hitch in the back. I pick...

    Ordering a Challenger lift....any suggestions/tips

Verify it is in stock. I ordered a CL10 last year and it took over a month to get delivered to East TN. It was alright since I wasn't in a hurry, but I wish they would have told me upfront. They did say if I had ordered a blue lift it would have been 1 week. I ordered mine in December 2015 and...

Help Me Select the RIGHT 2-Post Lift for my Shop

Happy is the understatement of my life. I love it. They (Challenger) call it a Versi-metric lift. It has three stage arms on the front and back that supposedly allow it to lift either way. I have had one ton trucks all the way to small sports cars on it.

Help Me Select the RIGHT 2-Post Lift for my Shop

Some Challenger lifts are made in the USA and some are made offshore. When I was considering a lift, I called them up on the phone and talked to them. I ended up with a CL10. The lift was made in the USA, except the power unit motor was made in Mexico according to the sticker.

Should I run a separate ground wire when using metal conduit/boxes?

Can you explain how to do it not correctly or give an example? I am curious since my garage has EMT conduit and grounding conductors ran from the grounding bar for each circuit.

Saylor Beall, OK so what did I buy?

The book that I have does not show that kind of setup. I would call Saylor Beall when they open again from the Thanksgiving holiday. When I needed parts for my 707, the factory was super helpful in getting me setup with the proper manuals. Almost all of their books are online, but they were...

Quality made, small, portable, hydraulic, floor jacks

The Milwaukee model 20 is a nice made in the USA jack. I haven't priced one in several years, so it is hard for me to say if it is affordable to you. http://www.milwaukeejack.com/model20.pdf

    Quincy or champion?

I would look at Saylor Beall air compressors also. How many CFM does your paint booth require?

    Metal Tube Building

My shop is a metal building that was constructed of formed sheet metal "C"s. I am not sure of the gauge of the material. The "C"s are 2" wide and 4" deep. The wall post and trusses are both constructed with this material. I saw several buildings of this type being built near me when I was...

Symmetric or Asymmetric 2 Post for Trucks

My Challenger 10K symmetric lift has three stage arms for and aft. I wouldn't say that I paid through the nose. Yes, it was more expensive than some lifts. I am a big proponent of the buy once and cry once mentality. I like it a whole lot, although sometimes I wish the front arms were a...

Anyone used/seen a Lefoo pressure switch?

My Saylor Beall 707 has a Lefoo pressure switch. I don't know how old it is but it works ok. I do use it to control the magnetic starter instead of passing full motor current through it.

What Do You Think Is The Best OBDII Computer Scan Tool Software?

I too like AutoEnginuity. I bought it first for diagnosing injection issues on a Ford Powerstroke, so I had to have the Ford enhanced package. Since then I have used it on various cars and trucks and I really like it. There is a learning curve to using it to make sure you are getting the...

    3 phase electric

I live out in the middle of nowhere and for some odd reason 3 phase power runs right by my house. The houses along the street are hooked up to it, or at least two wires of it. I asked about getting it when I had a new service installed. The cost was $10k vs $2k for standard 200 amp service.

    Magnetic Starter Options

My current Furnas starter is rated 5hp at 240 volts, so it is definaty undersized. I appreciate all of opinions and help.

    Magnetic Starter Options

Bringing this back for another question. The starter that is on currently on the compressor is a Furnas unit, with a 30 amp maximum rating. I was tempted to try to use it since the Baldor motor specs as 31 FLA, but I hate to risk damage to a new motor over cheaping out now. Looking around...

    Magnetic Starter Options

Thank you for the replies and the link. I do not have the old starter in front of me yet, but I figured that I would need to upsize due to the increased amperage load. I will start reading today on the various brands of adjustable type magnetic starters. WP

    Magnetic Starter Options

I am sorry, I should have clarified that. I will switch the motor to a single phase unit. The power company came by and said they would gladly run 3 phase 115' for $10K. I decided that the new motor would be a better option.

    Magnetic Starter Options

I am getting everything together to install a 7.5 HP compressor in my shop. I have never owned a piece of equipment that is big enough to require a magnetic starter so this will be first time installing one. The compressor is currently equipped with a 3 phase motor and starter. My question is...

Has anyone seen the single 240 receptacles inside a home before?

My house has a dedicated 20 amp 240 plug in the living room. I think they probably had a free standing heater at one time. It is the only thing that made sense to me.

    Ford F250 axle nut socket?

My 97 f350 had a Dana 60 front end and utilized the 4 pin style socket. It was hard to get it engaged because some ***** had used a punch and hammer at some point in its life. This had chewed up the nuts. After I got them out I used a file to dress the nuts.
