What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: what did you do in your garage today? That was my plan but it didn't look "removable" to me. It appears to be crimped in place. Thanks for the ideas though.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: what did you do in your garage today? I only kept screwdrivers up there so it's not that much of a loss. I'm gonna re-arrange the toolbox a little bit and put the screwdrivers in one of the drawers. I looked at removing the top but the piano hinge is spot welded to the tool box so I just...

    Howdy from GA

Haha I don't think I could handle gwinnett traffic. I despise driving in gwinnett county, it's such a cluster f***... I live in Canton and work in Alpharetta so my commute consists of driving by all of the big money horse farms in Alpharetta/Milton. The only traffic I encounter is a couple of...

    My shop/barn build thread

Be careful with sawdust on that laminate floor. It can get pretty slippery. When I was installing the laminate floor in my house, it was quite slippery from all the sawdust everywhere from trimming door jambs and floor planks.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Planed and ripped some 2x6's for the workbench top tonight. I ripped them down to 5" wide on the table saw to straighten them out and square up the edges. Then I ran them through the planer to take 1/16" off each side. Then I edge glued the boards together and clamped it up. I'll pull the clamps...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: what did you do in your garage today? I started re-doing my workbench area in the garage yesterday to get more workbench space. I've been on garage journal too much lately lol Here's the before: The rollaway toolbox usually sits next to the workbench. The future holds something...

    Size matters...

I bought mine in Feb 2010 so I'm coming up on 3 years soon. I got it on closeout at Lowe's for $500 when they were ditching Hitachi stuff (except for handhelds). It's holding up well, a little rust on the cast iron but otherwise it still works great. I don't use it a ton, just for a few...

Floating wood up against existing tile wall

Based on what you've described... Personally, I would just pull the tile off the wall. Seems like it would look odd with tile on the wall, but a wood floor. Pics?

Subway tile for wainscoting? Need something water proof.

For a tile job to be "waterproof", Use durock or Hardibacker and apply a waterproofing membrane (Redgard or Laticrete Hydroban). You can also use regular drywall and Schluter Kerdi membrane, then apply the tile over that with your thinset. What about a sheet of lexan or plexiglass sealed up...

What screw to use for securing plywood to shop wall?

Buy an impact driver. I Love mine! I got a compact 18v li ion Hitachi a.couple years ago. The only thing I use a regular drill for now is drilling holes. All fasteners get driven with my impact driver. You'll wonder why you never used one before.

    Craftsman Garage Door opener?

Mine will do that occasionally (Chamberlain). I usually just wiggle the wires at the sensor and it fixes it.

do you give your friends your tools???

I had a roomate that would borrow my tools to work on his car. He would never put them back in the same place he found them or put them back covered in grease. I told him numerous times I didn't appreciate it. I eventually started locking my tool box and kept the key with me. He got the hint and...

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

The best thing to do is actually to wetsand them with 1500 grit, then with 2000 grit, then spray them with automotive clear coat to seal them up. The problem is once that factory protective coating is gone, they will yellow out again in time if they aren't re-sealed.

    Pure Oil

They've converted a few of them around here into restaurants. They're called Pure Taqueria. They kept the big glass garage doors and open them up in the summer time. It's a pretty popular place around here. http://puretaqueria.com/

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: what did you do in your garage today? Thanks. I bought them from 4xInnovations. I scored the wheels off of craigslist last year for $150 for the set. I had been looking for a reasonably priced set of them for a while. Everyone wants crack money for them. They're the best looking set of...
